Most people will find it traumatic, sad and something they wish they could have avoided.This can be avoided if you realise a few things about hamsters BEFORE you buy yourself/your kid a hamster.Hamsters are nocturnal. They sleep deep in their burrows during the day. They become active at nights. During which they run. They run a lot. Miles per night. Even with a "silent wheel" it's going to disturb you if you will sleep in the same room.Hamsters are not that social creatures and not that easily handable. Due to their sizes they're also at risk of being hurt while handling, especially if handled by a kid. There's a very good chance your kid will get fed up and bored and you'll end up with a late nigh noise machine.Hamsters, to be healthy and (mostly) stress free need big cages. Much, much bigger than an average pet shop will let you think.So there's a good chance your kid will end up with a noisy at night, nowhere to be seen at days, stressed animal they won't be even able to cuddle the way they would like. For your own and animals sake - do your research please..

We all pay to watch Netflix. I used to love getting the DVDs in the mail. I don't understand their need to edit the films. We are rewatching Witcher, for example. Seems like every scene that had nudity has been cut out. We are mid-way into season 3 and there has been one, only one, brief nudity scene. Who could tell what other scenes have they cut out? Hey Netflix! how about a pricing tier that offers completely unedited films.

Is it just me but do so many Netflix shows/movies feel soulless? Like they were made by AI or something

So something I've noticed about Netflix over the last few years is so many of their movies and shows just feel, soul less, like they were made in the same "factory" or by AI. It's hard to explain but they all just feel too cookie cutter, to polished and structured, stiff.. safe, there isn't any depth or rawness to them, they are predictable and you can tell there just isn't any human touch or passion behind them at all.

ELI5: GLP-1 and how they work

With all of the conversation surrounding the new trend of GLP1s for weight loss, I really struggle to understand how they work better than a calorie deficit and exercise. Obviously it is less invasive than bariatric surgery…but it seems both these medical interventions literally just prevent you from overeating and thus force you into a calorie deficit. Can someone explain like I’m 5 or have I already got my 5 yr old simple understanding?
