Like, why not carry them slung under the wings like bombs? Fire bomb tanks have similar shapes and those were slung under the wings.And from what I've seen of public modern fighter jets, they carry their drop tanks under their wings like a bomb.

Help finding a show?

I used to watch this show with my little sister, maybe 6-8 years ago, I could have sworn it was on Netflix. It was a part of the power rangers series except the power rangers were like little toys or kids and I think (?) they sat on a shelf or something?? It was honestly not great but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it and it’s really frustrating. i’d love any ideas lol!

Why ysk: When I worked in a jewelry store, I had to do that a bunch of times when customers tried on rings that were too small and got rings stuck on their fingies. Works immediately. Never once saw it fail.

Netflix App Smart TV(Volume at 0, but audio is still playing.)

Hey,I have a Sony Bravia with the Netflix App preinstalled. Everything was working as usual, until one day the volume settings went wonky.When I put the TV Volume on 0 it doesn't effect the Netflix App and continues to play sound.I've tried deleting the app settings, and cache however that didn't seem to resolve it.Most search results I find are for very low volume playback, and nothing matching my issue.

ELI5: Why does the bucket in a bucket truck need to be solid to maintain grounding?

I'm watching this arborist on YouTube and they have a truck with a bucket on an arm so they can reach heights without climbing. On/after a rainy day the bucket will accumulate water and they mentioned they can't drill a hole to drain because it will compromise the grounding. My understanding of grounding/electricity doesn't explain this. Can someone help me understand why this would make a difference?

Somehow I came out of 'Seven Seconds' most angry at Marie

Thought this was a great mini series and an interesting take on the nature of justice. Characterisation was good and didn't pander one way or the other. But amongst all of the unlikeable characters on show, somehow I came out of it disliking Marie the most. Obviously I don't mean in terms of the individual actions of the characters, but in terms of who leaves the sourest taste for some reason it was her Curious what others think?

I updated Netflix and can’t download anything

I updated it on my windows 10 and suddenly the app looked like the web version and I know this is because of an update that they changed it but I’m just so upset and maybe anyone has a solution? I rlly want to download some movies again so I can project it on my wall in my room- where I don’t have wifi.

ELI5 - why are viral infections so much harder to cure than bacterial infections?

For most bacterial (and even fungal) infections, we've developed medications you can take and the infection is gone in a few days. But most viruses remain completely untreatable. The best we can do is develop treatments that manage the symptoms, or vaccines that boost your body's natural defense and make it somewhat less likely that you'll get infected, or if you do get infected it'll be a less severe case.The flu, COVID, RSV, swine flu, bird flu, HIV, Ebola, even the common cold. We don't really have a "cure" for any of them. Why not?What's different about a virus that makes it so much harder to just develop a pill you can pop to make it go away?

What are the best shows to listen to.

Because of my current life situation I need to travel a lot for the military, I'm unable to really watch a show but im able to have it on and in my pocket and listen to it as i do stuff. So far ive listened to the first few episodes of black queen with no problem. What other shows / movies are good to just listen to.

Switching account to other ip and then back?

Is it possible? I used to pay for a 2 profile account for my mother and I (we live in different cities) but since it wouldnt let me watch at a different ip adress i switched it to paying for only 1 account. This of course means i dont have netflix right now without paying for another subscription. Can i switch it to mine to watch something i want, then switch it back to hers? I did get the option once, it required a code of some kind, i was just wondering will it get me banned?In case they will ban for that, can i use the same card i used for her account to open up and pay for a new account for my own tv? ELI5: How did phone dial tones get recognized on the telephone office end?

OK, from what I understand, dial tones replaces manual telephone office operators. Instead of having them connect you to your number, the numbers you press correspond to particular frequency which get recognized automatically by a computer and automatically connects you to that numberExcept, how do the tones even get recognized? I use audacity for instance which has a pitch recognition feature. It's... Not the best and can and will get things wrong on crystal clear audio Phone audio on the other hand? The connection would be weak, someone playing or shouting something in the background could mess with the dial tone data sent to the office (of which I am aware phreaking exploited) It's the late 70's. How did the telephone office computers recognize the tones perfectly and without error? All it takes is someone shouting or playing something in the background or a telephone microphone with terrible frequency response, or electromagnetic interference to mess with the dial tone data sent to the office and confuse itThis could cause everything from numbers never going through, to connecting one to the wrong number, yet this never happened, on 70's tech no lessWhat did they do for crystal clear tone recognition in the 70s that my audio software on my 2019 laptop can't?
