profiles keep disappearing
At /r/netflix
last nigt, the profiles in our shared netflix account disappeared and only has the profile of the person paying for our netflix and a guest one. we added profiles last night, not minding it, but this morning it disappeared again while i was watching a show.it says that netflix has redirected me too many times. what does that mean? does anyone know the issue here?

‘XO, KITTY’ has been renewed for Season 3 at Netflix.

I thought about this after watching a commercial about Colgate Total. We've been using that line of toothpaste all my life and the only thing I see that has changed is the marketing, the product is still the same and is advertised with the same benefits.So what do toothpaste researchers look to improve on their formulas? And why haven't they been able to make that perfect toothpaste that can completely eliminate all the bacterias in the mouth? What other qualities invisible to us are they looking to implement on a toothpaste?

ELI5: How do unemployment benefits work in the USA?

I ask this question from the point of view of an Australian who’s only experience with unemployment benefits (the dole as we called it when I was on it) in the 90’s. here it was something you applied for often straight out of high school/uni until you got your first job, and then any time you were out of work. I regularly read/hear on podcasts/threads etc something along the lines of ‘and because of that you don’t qualify for unemployment benefits’ and some times I’m hearing something that suggests the ex employer payed the unemployment benefit if they let the employee got in a particular manner. Does the state/federal government not pay citizens their unemployment benefits in the USA?

ELI5: Why was predation a good evolutionary adaptation for the first predator?

So, based on my understanding, to oversimplify, the ultimate goal of every organism is to acquire enough energy to continue existing and reproducing, without getting killed by another organism. The process of evolution, while obviously unguided, is still going to optimize organisms to be as efficient at obtaining energy as they are able to be in their given environment and niche.And, again to oversimply, all organisms have basically adopted one of four strategies; producers that produce energy from sunlight (or chemical energy in some cases), primary consumers that eat the producers, secondary consumers that eat the primary consumers, or decomposers that eat dead organisms and waste from organisms.Energy efficiency wise, the producers, like plants and algae, are getting the best bang for their buck: they can just soak up all the energy they need from the sun without really having to do much to get it.Of course, not every organism can do that, and those organisms still need to get their energy from somewhere, so they eat the producers, The primary consumers are getting energy less directly and efficiently, they have to eat more producers proportionately to get enough energy, and they have to expend more effort to get energy than the plants are having to spend to get it, but its still the most efficient you can be if you didn't luck out enough to evolve photosynthesis. And of course, all these organisms are leaving waste around and dying, leaving all that free energy just laying around, so adapting to be a decomposer also makes sense.None of this is being chosen or thought out of course, but there is still a trend towards efficiency.So if being a producer is the most energy efficient option, and being a primary consumer or decomposer is the next best option if you can't do that, why adapt to be a secondary consumer? With each level higher you go on the food chain that organism is getting less energy and having to do more work to get it. So what creates the drive to start predation as a strategy? Obviously once that genie is out of the bottle, a whole evolutionary arms race between different organisms starts that creates the various levels of secondary, tertiary, apex, etc. all in an effort to not be the one being eaten. But what kicked it off in the first place, when its taking a more complicated and less efficient path to survival?

Anyone know why Netflix keeps playing the last episode of a series first?

This is so annoying, every time I go to watch a new show it plays the most recent episode first. Just went to watch Scavengers Reign and was a third of the way through what I thought was a flash forward until I remembered to check. So that's spoiled now.I'm using the Netflix app on my Roku TV, on my own profile nobody else uses, and none of the episodes show as "already watched".

Other primates (from what I have seen, so I might be wrong) don't seem to have that problem. So why, why do we humans have problems with cavities but other animals don't?

Why is everyone so attractive on the new Love is Blind?

I’ve seen most of the previous seasons, and I feel like this season is an outlier because everyone is really attractive, especially the women. Like all the women look like they could be Instagram models. I think this really takes away from the point of the show, it’s now just like The Bachelor, where everyone is really attractive.

ELI5: Why are congested sinuses often only blocked on one side?

Whenever I'm congested, my nose often alternates so I can semi-breathe through one side or the other, and it switches every hour or two. Are bodies adapted to do this? (Though sometimes both are completely blocked haha...)Bonus for how common it is to be mucus vs inflammation doing the blockage. I often feel like my own are mostly inflammation with some mucus.

Netflix on win chrome is broken, help

I started watching Yellowstone on my pc, then 2 days ago the show vanished. nothing on search, and my currently viewing shows list was also gone. So i tried it on the firestick on my tv, and everything was there. My currently viewing list is back but its empty, except for the new show I started as I couldn't get Yellowstone. I had several shows in that list and I have no idea which ones. Does anybody know how to fix this, as I primarily use my pc to watch my shows?
