Watching Brian’s parents “search” for Brian made my blood boil. A quote from the FBI said “they did not emote.” Of course they didn’t. They knew where to pretend to look the entire time. You’re telling me he was within a mile of the car the entire time and his parents show up to look one day and they find his remains the same day. Then Brian says in his suicide note that Gabby “begged for an ending to her pain” and he thought it was “merciful.” I have never felt a level of anger at a family in my life. I hope the entire Laundrie family pays for what they did.This is so sickening.

Ruined my own experience thinking I guessed the "twist"

I'm curious if any other movie fans have done thisI recently watched "Missing" on Netflix and kinda ruined my own experience of the movie thinking I knew better.. I've watched countless thrillers for decades to the extent where I'm annoyingly able to see the twist coming very early in movies. Well in Missing I thought I clocked a 'subtle' throwaway line in the first few miniutes that the "babysitter" would be the villian. I assumed it was lazy writing that would be a "gotcha moment" near the end - (It happens alot in these types of movies)I proceeded to roll my eyes for a large part of the movie thinking how predictable it was, only to see I was completely wrong and the movie was smarter than I gave it credit for!Anyone else do this before? I feel like it's a product of watching so many movies and getting used to seeing the same predictable patterns made over and overI'm glad I was wrong and a little annoyed that I soured my owners experience. I love movies and hate when they go exactly where you think they will!

My city is building metro lines, and so far according to the news, the work is progressing very slowly because they have to move the underground cables and pipes along the whole metro line. I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but why can't they just build the metro tunnels way deeper, below the whole network of cables and pipes?

ELI5: Is it true that stock prices don't really depend on the company's financial success?

I've been confused with the reasoning behind stock prices going up. I get that a stock price goes up when demand goes up, but l've been thinking about how the reason demand goes up can be entirely arbitrary. This is the way I see it: A company's financial success has no real effect on its stock price. It only does this because investors have agreed to pump a stock when the underlying business is reputable and increasingly successful. The increase/ decrease of a stock is caused by supply and demand of investors, not because of the company's financial success or failure. I don't make money by investing in APPL because they made a few billion this month, I make money by investing in Apple because demand for the stock goes up. With that being said, stock price does not go up just because a company's getting rich, but purely on investors' perceptions (and their idea of a good indicator of a stocks' lucrativeness doesn't HAVE to be because the underlying company is getting increasingly getting richer, it can be anything)l'd deeply appreciate a good explanation, as one has really been able to clarify this succinctly for me. BTW, I hope this wasn’t too convoluted…

ELI5: Why can’t you just get rid of scars by wounding the scar and letting it heal over again?

Like for atrophic scars, why can’t you just sand your skin until it’s broken and let it heal over so that the scars disappear? For hypertrophic scars too. I keep hearing about laser treatments for scars but isn’t that just damaging the skin so it’ll heal over? Microneedling too.

Why YSK: In a world with less and less community connection some social etiquette that adults should know is falling to the side. What are some that you think should not be forgotten? I’ll start. If you stay at someone’s house over night (especially if they are feeding you for multiple meals), it’s polite to either bring a small gift or treat them to a meal out. Groceries are expensive and hosting takes prep and clean up time - It’s good to show appreciation. If you are attending an event that has a gift registry (wedding, baby shower, etc) and plan to give a gift make every effort to get a gift from the registry. People put a lot of time and effort on researching what would be most useful to them… get them what THEY want not what YOU want. What would you add to the list?
