Spotify and Apple Music offer a ton of albums all on their streaming services. If you use either or, you can probably find what you're looking for with ease. Why is this not the case for movies, as they can either be on one random service, or none at all?

ELI5: Why are the things the human brain finds the most enjoyable and addictive, also the things that are the most destructive to our bodies? Doesn't this seem counterproductive from a survival standpoint?

Take things like fast food. From a survival standpoint it has no real nutrition, it's of no benefit to our body, so surely that kind of thing should send a negative response to our brains right? So why is it received so positively? Same with things like drugs and alcohol, they destroy our bodies, and yet they provide positive feedback to the point of becoming addictive. Surely this would harm our ability to survive rather than help, so why is such a response even within the capacity of our brains? Also there is the perspective that "well we wouldn't encounter these things in nature" except, the whole reason we know about alcohol is because our ancestors used to eat fermented fruit from the ground, get drunk off it, then sought a way of doing it more, we did encounter these things in nature first which is how we knew how to cultivate them.

Why YSK:Despite an old meme, the mp3 files won't spontaneously degrade over time, however if you have moved your mp3 library over the years, there is likely some level of corruption to some files. This will either create noise artifacts or will cause the files to not play any longer.Tools like Foobar2000 have utilities to scan for issues and repair in bulk. It can also add tags for normalizing volume levels and adding the right track info.I hadn't done this for a while and had over 300 files that were no longer playable, was able to fix this automatically in less than 30 minutes.

Started Baby Reindeer. It's brtutal and depressing yet compelling.

I don't know what to make of the show. It's brilliant, yet also brutal and depressing. Episode 4 is heart-wrenching. I've seen discussions from survivors who say the show can be triggering or who had to switch it off. I really feel for the series creator who based this off a story. It's so fucked up.

Which Netflix animated series is surprisingly good?

For me, BoJack Horseman is the standout. I started watching it because I thought it would just be a silly animated show, but it turned out to be deep, emotional, and incredibly well-written, tackling tough topics like depression, addiction, and self-worth with humor and heart.

For my phone its "extra dim" located under the color blindness/filter settings Though I am morally obligated to say that using your phone at night will make sleep even harder.

Cassandra: so much potential, so little substance

Well obviously spoilers ahead so read at your own risk.Cassandra as a show promises so much with its premise. The movie and TV space has produced some excellent work with the whole "AI gone rogue" as a topic (read: Ex Machina) but Cassandra is one of those that doesn't live up to the hype it creates and can definitely be skipped.First of all, it features some of the dumbest side characters (Samira's family) who genuinely made my blood boil as I was watching this. I get that you need to push the story ahead but definitely not at the cost of making your characters 50 IQ. Juno doesn't tell anyone Cassandra told her where the gun is despite it almost getting her expelled. Fynn doesn't mention what his boyfriend said to him about Cassandra till it's too late and David is honestly so unlikeable and dumb, that already makes this a difficult watch.The story starts okay, peaks around episode 4 and doesn't make any coherent sense from that point. The plot twist is not only there for the sake of it but is somehow still extremely predictable. The ending far too rushed, even for a 6 episode series. The whole plot with Samira's sister feels so badly forced in, that I had to skip past most of it in the later episodes to get to the end.Spent my weekend watching this and retrospectively I could have spent it staring at a painting and come out more content.1.5/5

The character Rose in The Night Agent is insufferable at this point.

I just have to get this off my chest, even at the risk of getting massively downvoted, this character is so poorly written. She changes her mind ten times in a single episode and is excessively annoying. The story itself is dull and weak overall with no character developments, but I could live with that if it weren’t for this one character being forcefully inserted into every situation. It made sense in Season 1 since the story revolved around her, but in Season 2? Even FBI agents are unaware of Night Action, yet somehow, this civilian is deeply involved in everything??seriously? If the writers were so intent on keeping her relevant, why not just hire her as a tech? Instead, they throw a civilian into the field like it’s nothing. To top it all off, the actor really cannot act. It was really difficult to finish season 2. I am not even getting to the other issues like poor writting, countlessly irritating character arcs.. S1 was not the greatest but it felt like this had some promise going forward and boy, oh boy, was I wrong.

YSK: Apple’s camera is set to live photo by default. This consumes a lot of storage space (anti-trust suit anyone?). Hold your finger on a photo that you’ve taken. If it’s a very short video clip then live photo is still on.

WHY YSK: You need to go in to settings>camera>preserve settings, and turn live photo on. And then you can permanently toggle the live function off in your camera. Nice series of steps to remove something that no one asked for AND incidentally fills up your iCloud storage 10x faster than normal, so you can purchase more storage space lol

Suppose you have a hysterectomy. What does that do to the rest of the organs? I'm thinking specifically of the intestines & bowels - do they just move around since one of the organs is gone? How do the other organs stay in the right place now that there's empty space in there?

ELI5: Why do we need to train cardio to increase our cardiovascular health? Why don't we naturally have good cardio?

I understand why we have to train to build muscle - if the body didn't need that muscle it shouldn't waste energy on it. But is it the same with cardiovascular health - surely there are a lot of benefits to having a better circularitory system and it doesn't use much energy?
