I really dislike Mo in Mo (2022)
At /r/netflix
I am currently finishing up season 2 of Mo. The show is great, and I love the storyline and relatability. But the main character Mo makes me mad!!! Have you ever seen a main character who keeps making bad choices no matter how many lessons they have to learn? I understand that is the way to keep the story going, but Mo makes his problems everyone else’s problem. He makes every situation about him and always has to be the center of attention. He is a 35+ man who acts like a child and has no growth during the show. I love this show so much but the main character is insufferable!! Did anyone else think this while watching it?

Chanelle McAuliffe - something’s not right ….
At /r/netflix
So I’ve watched a few interviews involving her, and I don’t believe her reasons for revealing/outing Belle are at all altruistic. I could be wrong but there is something about Chanelle that has always felt off, in every interview her body language just seems to …. It’s just, I don’t know - I think there is more there, I feel like something else or some other events happened that ended with her revealing Belle. I dunno, could be completely wrong, but my behavioural background is shooting up flags and I can’t put my finger on it…. But she certainly comes across completely insincere.

ELI5: How did leg lengthening surgeries used to work?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
I know that technology has advanced to a point where pulling the broken halves of a bone apart a tiny bit each day has become largely uninvasive, using a magnet to tug on an implanted rod that the patient can use at home. But what about 10 years ago? 20? 40? 70?Was there a time when leg lengthening was a series of procedures where the leg had to be rebroken and held immobile so it could knit together across the gap over and over? Or has it always been one very long procedure, where the bone is gradually pulled apart as it attempts to knit together each day?And I know that children are ideal candidates for leg lengthening because they are actively growing every day, but what about adults? Is a different procedure used for patients who aren't going through growth spurts?Paging u/drdory, I saw you answer a similar question about what happens with muscles after leg lengthening, so I hope you can chime in on the procedure itself! I'm fascinated, but all the published papers go a little over my head and it's been a looonnng time since I took any medical courses - and none of them were about living people. 👀

ELI5: Why do planets follow the orbital paths they do?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
My (very limited) understanding of general relativity is that gravity is due to deformation of space. Because the sun is a sphere wouldn’t the deformation be equivalent in three dimensions? If so, why do the planets ultimately select and stay on the orbit paths they are on? Why not chaotic motion and why do they all seemingly orbit in the same plane?

'Zero Day' intro meaning?

This might mean literally nothing, but I noticed in zero day the intro goes from the text in black, then to white, however the "Os"/Holes in the text doesn't appear in Black ( the O, D, and A, in zero day had the the hole filled in black)Idk maybe it's nothing, but I have a feeling it means something I don't understand haha

ELI5: How is a bridge built from one point to another assuming there's no way to reach the other side beforehand?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
What made me think of this question initially was when rewatching Kung Fu Panda due to boredom and seeing the fight between the Furious Five and Tai Lung at the bridge. Obviously that universe has flying animals who can carry material over. But if we were to bring it to the regular world, how would we go about building a bridge to another side to which we have no way of accessing beforehand, assuming we had only the crude materials of wood, rope, etc. and not the technology we have now? Even with the technology we have now, it's not like we can shift click blocks that are superadhered to each other in minecraft to get from point A to point B.

ELI5: Downshifting from a high gear before accelerating

I’m an idiot when it comes to cars and mechanical things. I’ve also never driven a manual vehicle.I know people will downshift right before accelerating in order to have more torque. What I don’t understand is how much can you actually downshift while traveling at 70 mph? YSK: There is a way to permanently ban Youtube channels from being recommended
At /r/YouShouldKnow
I found that even though I often ask youtube to stop showing me videos from certain channels it just ignores it after a while.I googled for a solution and found Untrap a while back and have tested it for at least a year now. It works with most browsers and surprisingly functions very good and is even totally free to use (as of this posting at least). Why YSK: Youtube does not respect your wish to not recommend certain channels and will only block them for a while. It's very frustrating to keeps seeing channels pop up on your recommended feed even though you have already asked YT not to show them. An example: I love to watch crime stuff, but found that there is a lot of shit channels that just regurgitates content from more popular channels. With this extension I can simply click "block channel" and never see them again. I also like to block channels that use clickbait for engagement or are AI content mills. It has really cleared up my feed. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work when using the search function.PS: I should mention that I am not affiliated in any way with the developers, I just found the extension really helpful and hope it can help others with the same frustrations.

YSK: Motion sickness from video games can be solved with a horizon
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: motion sickness with games can be eliminated through an artificial horizon.Motion sickness occurs when you lack a frame of reference. To eliminate motion sickness in games, get an LED strip light and mount it to the bottom of your monitor. It will create a solid horizon, which provides a frame of reference and eliminates most, if not all, of the motion sickness. You can make the LEDs dim also, you don't need much, just enough to keep yourself oriented.I use this technique and can play first person games for hours where I couldn't stand them for minutes before.

Title of Movie/Show
At /r/netflix
Definitely a shot in the dark here, I think it was a series of short stories . The one that sticks out is with a Rich father that has a daughter, daughter introduces her boyfriend to father who disagrees with the relationship. Father and boyfriend end up fighting and falls down some type of vent that teleports them to Hell like landscape(think some old guy invented the portal) where the father dies instantly and the boyfriend has to crank some machinery. Another man serves his term from the hellish place and returns to the real world to his wife .

Eli5 how did Ireland become rich despite brain drain and thorough exploitation by Britain?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
All,Randomly thought of this and now I'm curious. I understand why Ireland is rich in recent times and it's due to its relaxed taxation laws for corporates. However, I don't think that was the starting point. It had to be moderately developed and sufficient skilled labor in order to attract companies. How did it accomplish this?

YSK: You may be overpaying for your prescriptions at retail chains
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Especially in the United States, a lot of people fill their prescriptions at the major chains (CVS/Walgreens) due to convenience and brand recognition. Depending on your insurance/pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), you may be paying an overinflated amount by not shopping around. Why YSK: My PBM has a drug price lookup tool that shows me my prescription and how much it costs at the pharmacies near me. Getting a prescription filled at the local family owned pharmacy has saved me hundreds of dollars in the last few years. An example is an ointment I use is $85 at Walgreens but $20 at a local pharmacy. They’re both in network, same quantity, same drug.
