Regular black screen in Chrome since trying to use a brightness console command
At /r/netflix
Hi, I have my VLC player set to be slightly brighter than my desktop, so when I watch something in Netflix it looks noticeably dingy. I tried using the console command as recommended in this post, and instantly I got a black screen in my browser and had to close down Netflix entirely to get it working again (refreshing, or going back didn't help)Since doing this, I regularly get a black screen when trying to resume a video within Netflix, or on first loading Netflix, and it can take a minute or two of fiddling with different things, refreshing, closing down and re-opening the tab etc. I've tried running the same console command and setting the brightness to 100% but it hasn't helped. Is there anyway I can fix this please? Maybe by removing that command somehow? I'd rather not have to reset all of my browser settings if I can avoid it. Thank you :)

TV show available on my profile but not my partner's.
At /r/netflix
My partner and I have been watching Snowpiercer on our own profiles. However, when she tried to watch it today, it had disappeared from her watch list and no longer appears in search results. Meanwhile, it still works fine on my profile—I can search for it, and it remains in my watch list. Her profile has no restrictions, and we also live in the same house, this also happens across all devices, so I'm just wondering what might have caused this as I've never encountered it before.

What cancelled Netflix show would you bring back if you could only pick 1?

Why do we shed tears when we are sad (or sometimes angry)? I'm not asking why does our body produce tears, because i know what functions they serve, but why does our body produce them when we feel sad? Does it serve any purpose at all? Why don't we cry when we're haply for example, or only when we need it?

Price rise is ridiculous (UK)
At /r/netflix
I’m guessing they just think people will roll over and take it but I’m cancelling my subscription that I’ve had continuously for many years. Netflix is the one streaming service I’ve kept each month because I felt it was worth it, but a £2 rise is ridiculous. So instead of my £11 (already most expensive sub) each month, I’ll probably use it a few times a year now. ITV now has loads of comedies (which is what I use Netflix for the most) and is much cheaper. I hope others will also cancel and it will affect their profits.

Is there a way of equalising the volume
At /r/netflix
Does anybody else find the sound on films, and now it seems TV shows aswell goes up and down like a yo yo. One minute people talk really quite, the next the sound effects are blowing your ears off... I actually have the bass turned off on my TV now lol.Is there a way of Equalising the volume? Like a setting I've missed? I think Netflix [ and every other streaming company to be fair] needs to realise most people don't want to wake their neighbours up at 11pm at night and so keep having to turn down the volume every time there is an action sequence is a real pain in the bum.Anyways that's my rant. Do people agree. Is there a way to turn the theatrical sound off.[ You know back in the block buster days there was the home version, or the theatrical version. Not a suggestion just an observation]

I found the filming location for the house from the series “Cassandra”
At /r/netflix
After watching the series “Cassandra” today, which is about the supposedly first AI-controlled house in Germany, I couldn't let go and tried to find the location for the outdoor scenes. And I was successful: the house is now privately owned and has been heavily renovated since 2016. It's called “Haus Kemper” and is located in a secluded wooded area in Wuppertal.

Totally unusable!!!
At /r/netflix
I have been a Netflix customer for the last 14 years and up until the last year I've been happy (although getting slightly annoyed at price). However, as a truck driver in the UK the app has increasingly become unusable with Netflix constantly locking me out. I use the temporary logins when I'm away from home but now Netflix say I'm in breach of T&C's and have locked my account. I've tried to contact them and they just keep apologising but offering no solution but cancel my membership. Even if I try to set up again with a new email address, my IP address has been logged so will not allow sign in, again, all they can do is apologise.

Sharing netflix premium
At /r/netflix
Hello,I haven’t used Netflix before, but I’m now planning to subscribe to Netflix Premium. However, my decision depends on the answer to the following question.Three of us would be using the same account on our laptops/phones, but since we are students, we are rarely at home on the same Wi-Fi, we live on different campuses. My question is: in this case, can we share the profile without issues, or is this against Netflix’s rules, meaning we wouldn’t be able to use it together?Note: We wouldn’t be using it on a TV at home, only on our laptops.I looked for answer at help center, but no help.

all streaming platforms content is painfully limited
At /r/netflix
since each production/network has their own paid streaming platforms the content on all of them is weak, i wouldve thought by now some of these services would have been bought out by one or two major players allowing for better selection but somehow most are still in existence even with mostly garbage content and few watchable titles. i feel Netflix has suffered the most in recent years

YSK: Seasoning Isn’t Just for Cast Iron, Your Appliances Need It Too!
At /r/YouShouldKnow
For a while, I thought my toastie machine was malfunctioning. No matter how much I buttered the bread and cleaned the hot plates, they would still stick to the toast, ruining my sandwiches or making clean up hard.Recently, I have switched to cast iron from non stick. I learned about proper care cleaning it and applying a very thin layer of oil to keep it seasoned and non-stick. It worked wonders for my cooking, and then I had a realisation. What if I did the same with my toastie machine?I tried it, after cleaning, I lightly coated the metal plates with oil using a paper towel. The result? No more sticking at all! My toasties cooked perfectly, and I still got that nice buttery crisp on the bread. Why YSK:Many appliances with metal cooking plates, like toastie makers, waffle irons, and panini presses can lose their non-stick properties over time, especially with regular washing. A thin layer of oil helps maintain the surface, much like seasoning cast iron. This simple trick can extend the life of your appliance, prevent food from sticking, and make cleanup easier. If your toastie machine seems faulty, try seasoning the plates with a thin layer of oil you might be surprised at how well it works!
