Blacklist
At /r/netflix
I’ve seen so many people writing about how great this show is so I decided to give it a go.I’m 4 episodes in and I don’t get it… the main plot line is thin, the dialogue is ridiculous, the individual episode plots aren’t interesting, I love Spader but his character is so annoying. It’s just like any other Mentalist/Lucifer etc. shows with the quirky main character and BS mysteries…Does it ever get better?

The SAGs *with* commercials?
At /r/netflix
What's with the commercials on the SAGs? That's not what I'm paying Netflix for. They just hit us with an increase and their stock has skyrocketed to over $1000 a share. That's more than Apple, Microsoft & Amazon combined. They're posting record profits. That was the last straw for me. Just canceled. Greedy corporate scum. FREE LUIGI!

Thoughts About the Gabby Petito Murder
At /r/netflix
I just watched the Netflix documentary on the murder of Gabby Petito. I'd like to say a few things and pose a few questions. First of all, let me please say what a devastating & senseless tragedy this was. Good god, this got under my skin. For several reasons, primarily, of course, being the terrible & tragic murder of such a young, vibrant woman who could have done so many things with her time on this earth, but also the anguish & pain her loved ones have had to (and still have to) endure. I can't imagine the pain & fear she went through as her life was ending. I take no sides when I pose these questions. I am merely interested in the experiences and feelings of others when it comes to this story. First & foremost, Brian Laundrie's family has been under massive attack since everything came to light, especially for the burn after reading letter where his mother says no matter what he did, she would do anything outside the confines of the law to assist & protect him. Because he is her child no matter what happens, for better or for worse, she is there to help him. I want to know the opinions of other parents on this. And I mean raw, honest opinions on how you would handle a terrible situation like that: how would you respond to your child admitting to you they'd done something terrible, something unforgivable, something life ruining? If your child admitted they killed someone, would you choose to help them or would you turn them in? Or would you tell them they're on their own?As for the police who pulled Gabby & Brian over after their domestic dispute: did the police do the wrong thing in not filing criminal DMV charges, or was the end inevitable, and was Gabby living on borrowed time just by staying with Brian? Could the police really have stopped these forces of nature that brought these two back to each other? If this particular incident of him killing her would have been avoided, would another situation have come up in the future where he may have killed her?

Changing Languages doesn't change anything except website menus/display text
At /r/netflix
I am watching on PC via Chrome browser.I wanted to watch content in other languages as a way of helping to learn a language. I tried changing the language in the settings. There is an option for both display and for audio/subtitles. Adding languages under audio/subtitles doesn't seem to work. English remains the only option despite adding other languages in the settings. And changing the display language changes the website text and most titles but almost all content continues to play in English. The only content I have found to actually change is dubbed like squid game or attorney woo. I thought maybe it's just not available in the desired language so I tried Spanish but nothing was in Spanish either. I am almost certain that all these movies should have a Spanish dub. Not only is there no dub but also no subtitles in Spanish, only English. So something has to be wrong here I just don't know what. I tried deleting cookies and cache but that did nothing. I am watching on the profile to which I am making all these changes in the settings and I am hitting save to the changes in the settings

Second home issues
At /r/netflix
I have an apartment is a different city where I work. According to the Netflix article about using Netflix outside the home, I should be able to log in at both places if I stream on the TV while simultaneously streaming on the mobile app, then signing in with the mobile app at the other locations. It doesn't work. It wants me to either 1) create a new account, or b) update the household location, which I've been repeatedly told by customer service people in chat has a limited number of uses in the lifetime of the subscription. Has anyone else had success in using Netflix on the road?

Gabby & Brian- Their Parents
At /r/netflix
Brian is the villain, there's no doubt about that. He used classic abuse tactics not only on Gabby but her mom as well. It should be discussed how he abused Gabby but how he manipulated the parents as well. Gabby's mom said Brian would text her things about Gabby being around bad people and she believed him. I wonder if the mom had a history of abuse or if this is common with abusers. There should have been an abuse specialist speak on the whole situation.

Second Home Method issues
At /r/netflix
Hello Netflixers - as a Canadian, we've had the "household" setup for quite a while. I, admittedly, use my mom's netflix account. For a while it was actually set up with my household as primary (I use it more than she does) but then she swapped it over to her house. Over Christmas when I was at her house, I used the method where I watch a show on my phone on her wifi and netflix account and then watch a show on the same account from my house on the same device. It worked and re-enabled netflix on my TV at my place. She came to visit me for my birthday earlier this month and I had her use the same method (watch on her phone at her house, then connect to my wifi and watch on her phone at my house) to keep it working. However as of midnight today I am once again unable to access it on my wifi.Does anyone know why this might be? She followed the same steps as me but it doesn't seem to have worked? This is already super annoying :(

Netflix removing downloaded titles?
At /r/netflix
I’m on the plan with ads and I had downloaded the maximum number of episodes (15 on my device) to watch on a plane. I downloaded them before the trip and watched about 5 episodes. Today marks 3 full days after watching the first downloaded episode. I just checked my downloads and noticed the other 10 episodes I hadn’t watched yet were gone and it’s not letting me download anything else. I also checked in the app settings and it says that I have no downloads taking up storage on my device. I pressed the delete all downloads button in settings just in case and I still can’t download anything. Any ideas as to what might be going on here?

Is there a way of equalising the volume
At /r/netflix
Does anybody else find the sound on films, and now it seems TV shows aswell goes up and down like a yo yo. One minute people talk really quite, the next the sound effects are blowing your ears off... I actually have the bass turned off on my TV now lol.Is there a way of Equalising the volume? Like a setting I've missed? I think Netflix [ and every other streaming company to be fair] needs to realise most people don't want to wake their neighbours up at 11pm at night and so keep having to turn down the volume every time there is an action sequence is a real pain in the bum.Anyways that's my rant. Do people agree. Is there a way to turn the theatrical sound off.[ You know back in the block buster days there was the home version, or the theatrical version. Not a suggestion just an observation]

I found the filming location for the house from the series “Cassandra”
At /r/netflix
After watching the series “Cassandra” today, which is about the supposedly first AI-controlled house in Germany, I couldn't let go and tried to find the location for the outdoor scenes. And I was successful: the house is now privately owned and has been heavily renovated since 2016. It's called “Haus Kemper” and is located in a secluded wooded area in Wuppertal.

Gabby and Brian, were they both physical during arguments?
At /r/netflix
I just finished episode one and checked out some discussions around it, a lot of people seemed to be saying that he was the one physically assaulting her and she was defending herself, and then covering up for him.Did anyone else get the impression they were the type of couple that would both get physical during arguments? To me the body cam footage came off like this was something not new to them but that they were embarrassed of doing (for obvious reasons), so they attempted to minimize it infront of the cops. They both seemed equally riddled with anxiety while talking about it (Making it clear that it obviously does not lessen or justify the brutality of what happened to her, don’t think it needs to be said and that’s not the point of the post)

SAG Awards on Netflix - No pause or rewind functions?
At /r/netflix
Watching (in USA) the SAG Awards live on Netflix now and it doesn’t appear to have any pause or rewind function. Is this the case with all live programming on Netflix? Because if so, it feels like such a step backward in user experience. I mean, I genuinely can’t recall the last time I watched something on my television that couldn’t be paused or rewound - maybe Newhart lol?It feels really off brand for Netflix to offer such a diminished user experience. Seriously, if this is the way Netflix offers live programming, this will be the first and last live show I watch on Netflix.

Regular black screen in Chrome since trying to use a brightness console command
At /r/netflix
Hi, I have my VLC player set to be slightly brighter than my desktop, so when I watch something in Netflix it looks noticeably dingy. I tried using the console command as recommended in this post, and instantly I got a black screen in my browser and had to close down Netflix entirely to get it working again (refreshing, or going back didn't help)Since doing this, I regularly get a black screen when trying to resume a video within Netflix, or on first loading Netflix, and it can take a minute or two of fiddling with different things, refreshing, closing down and re-opening the tab etc. I've tried running the same console command and setting the brightness to 100% but it hasn't helped. Is there anyway I can fix this please? Maybe by removing that command somehow? I'd rather not have to reset all of my browser settings if I can avoid it. Thank you :)

Meanwhile, it still works fine on my profile—I can search for it, and it remains in my watch list.
