When you Own a house in lets say america you own the Land. You can renovate, rebuild the house do whatever you want because you own the land. But lets say you buy a condo in a city like NYC? Do Ads Mess Up Anyone Else’s TV?

Turned on Netflix the other day, put on the series I’ve been watching, and notice there’s these little yellow dots on the play-bar. Figured they’re ads. Watched for a few episodes, but no ads played. Then one actually played, and it froze the tv when it returned to the show, sound was buzzing loud. When did Netflix decide to put ads? Weve been watching all week, then boom, now we have ads. Why are they so poorly implemented? Most of the time they don’t even play, which is fine, but when they do, my tv freezes afterward. How do I fix this?

Have had really awful night time anxiety for months. House felt like a coffin and kinda "cloudy". Switched from warm white to neutral and after a while realized my anxiety was gone.Obligatory: obviously it's not gonna help everyone, but it's worth the couple bucks in light bulbs to try!

Newly considering ads

I've been a Netflix user from day 1 (seriously I had previously used a VHS subscription service where you got a phone book sized catalog and ordered by PHONE) but value add has just diminished. I hate ads with a passion (I pay for YouTube premium bc theirs are the worst - Freevee is #2) especially the constant repeats.Before I turn them on what can I expect regarding frequency and repeats?

ELI5: Which method is more effective (and why) for recirculating air into a room: a) using a fan to blow air out of a window, or b) using a fan to blow air in through the window?

For context, I've got a basement room in an old house that isn't tied in to central air conditioning, and sometimes the air gets a bit stale. It has a basement window, so I'll open that up and stick a fan in the window to blow air out, but someone told me that it's better to have the fan outside and pulling fresh air in. The room won't be overpressured as it's got a big gap under the door, and the fan doesn't cover the whole window.

ELI5 Why are hurricanes so devastating in the US?

I really can’t comprehend this level of damage from a hurricane.I lived in Hong Kong and have experienced multiple cat 5 tropical cyclones, the same level as Helene or worse, e.g. Typhoon Manhkhut. To say the damages were minimal would be an understatement. 0 deaths, buildings all intact, some broke windows, collapsed scaffolding and fallen trees at worst, flooding and other related disruptions for a day or two maximum, power/electricity unaffected, ~100-200 injuries. The bulk of the economical losses is from the city halting for a day or two.Is the difference just quality of infrastructure/ preparation? It’s not like it’s the difference of being hit directly either. Mangkhut gusted up to 137mph in Hong kong vs Helene’s peak 140mph wind speed. What am I missing here?

ELI5: How does washing something sticky "reactivate" the stickiness of some objects?

I've had several objects over the years that are sticky on purpose (game pieces for travel games, Cricut cutting mats, jelly window clings, etc), and usually instructions will say if they begin to lose their stickiness, wash with soap and water and leave out to dry. I understand that debris can cover up a sticky surface, but why does the soap not remove or otherwise create a film that would prevent the sticky from sticking? What properties of the soap and the sticky item are at play? And if the item is entirely sticky, does it count as an adhesive, and why does soap not just remove the adhesive?

Screen colour issues (red-pinkish tint) on netflix windows app and website

Hi,Lately, I've been having issues with my netflix windows app and the website. I have a Gigabyte Aero laptop with 4k HDR OLED screen (HDR mode is turned on). Whenever I enter fullscreen mode on the netflix app and website, the screen colour changes to a red-pinkish tint and then remains like that until I reload and start the show again. And then it happens again the moment I enter fullscreen. Everything else is working fine so I know it's not a hardware issue.Can someone please help? It's really annoying.Thanks!
