YSK: Your hairdresser/barber has a really hard time cutting hair that is past the shoulders when you are wearing a hoodie. The hoodie is a no no because the hair cannot be combed straight down and cut when the bulky hoodie is pushing the hair outward. WHY YSK : If your long hair is cut with a hoodie ( even while wearing a cape ) you can guarantee as soon as the hoodie is removed the hair will be uneven on the ends. May not be visible while wearing the hoodie, but as soon as the hair is laying flat against your back, it will be uneven with the hair at the nape sticking out longer than the rest. Now, if you have short hair and you are getting a short haircut, a hoodie is fine because the hoodie does not interfere. Also, who wants a hairy hoodie when you leave the salon? I've been doing hair for 33 years and for the love, PLEASE stop wearing hoodies if you have long hair and you are getting a haircut! It's really really annoying. That is all!

ELI5 Why do our eyes, “adjust” to darkness?

I know this probably sounds really stupid but how come you begin to see better in the darkness the longer you spend in it? It's not like your eyes are receiving any more light the longer you spend looking at nothing.I stare at the ceiling for like 20 minutes every night before I go to bed so I experience this effect often. Netflix AI mouth replacement on dubs looks terrible

Has anyone else noticed the weird AI mouth replacements on dubbed content that morphs actor's mouths to match the dubbing? Was trying to kill some time watching La Palma, and I noticed the actors mouths just seemed to look... wrong. Half the time it tracked with the english spoken word, then sometimes it didn't. When I switched back to Norwegian with subtitles, the actors' mouths and teeth looked VERY different.As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be an option to turn this "feature" off... Netflix, if you're listening, please add the option to remove this cuz it's just extremely off-putting... we already lose a ton of emotion and context with dubs, but at least the physicality of an actor's face would make up for it somewhat. But now... we've even lost those minute facial expressions from actors with this terrible AI replacement feature... please make it an option and not a forced (bug) feature.

ELI5 Why did hydrogen not pickup as an energy source?

I know this is probably more of an economics question than an engineering question, by why did hydrogen as an energy source, hydrogen cars to be exact, not pick up any momentum? Sure batteries fit into our current grid more gracefully but they’re expensive as fuck in every single way and degenerate fairly rapidly with time even if they’re not used.And we made elaborate fuelling stations for gasoline so I don’t see why can’t we do it for Hydrogen too.

Actually the same can be said for places like Australia. You would think places in the equator are hotter because they receive more heat due to the sunlight being concentrated on a smaller area and places away are colder because heat has to be concentrated over a larger area, but that observation appears to be flawed. Can’t find this movie!

I can’t find this movie I watched on Netflix it might not be on there anymore but it’s a country movie about these 2 guys who used to be part of a gang a dad and a uncle and a little girl and they’re about to lose their farm so one of the members of the gang convinced them to join back to get money so they don’t lose it but it was a trick so now he’s trying to get him out of it and they’re having to kill everyone and at the end they’re in these woods with these vicious dogs and they end up killing (the main leader who is an older women) son and the little girl ends up shooting the last guy left

Constant glitches rant

Constant increases in subscription amount, now ads, and every time we try to watch there are freezes, random uncontrollable fast-forwards, or just kicks us out completely. I dare not try to pause or increase volume cause those actions kick us off the channel too. Wtf.

Santa Clarita Diet rewatch

I loved this show when it was on originally and was devastated when they cancelled it. I decided to do a rewatch and it’s just as good as I remember and I want a follow up to the ending so bad! Ending this show prematurely was a huge misstep for Netflix, but this was when they were cancelling everything 😭

Weird freezing???

Does anyone have a problem with Netflix freezing? It’s not every time and it doesn’t have the loading screen it’ll just just freeze. We wait the tv will go to sleep mode then kick us out of Netflix. It on our Roku tv so idk exactly how to fix it or if there is a way to fix.

I’ve heard people say that tobacco companies could make cigarettes less harmful, but they don’t. Why is that? Why can't they make cigarettes that still taste the same, still have nicotine, but don’t cause as much damage to the lungs, heart, etc.?
