I live in New York State and recently our governor changed the liquor purchase time from 8a-8p to 10a-10p. You can buy beer from convenience stores at 8am-3am on Sundays like every other day but liquor is different. My question is why? Why is there a cutoff time?

YSK: Having a small/medium sized cavity removed without numbing agents is not very painful

Why YSK: Numbing agents such as Novicane or Lidocane numb your mouth for hours, add time to the procedure, and cost extra money. You DO NOT NEED TO USE THEM! If your cavity does not go all the way to your nerve/root, then the level of pain will remain constant throughout the procedure, and it is very manageable.I've had 4 total cavities in my life (30yo), 1 of which I got Novicane for which I hated. I asked to try without it the next time and I absolutely did not regret that decision. I can confidently say that the numbing injection is more painful than any part of the cavity removal process. Now, I'm not saying you won't notice the procedure is happening, but it really is not that bad. My last one, I asked the dentist to tell me when they're 50% done, 75%, etc. so I know how much longer it is going to take, but the whole procedure takes less than 5 minutes usually.If you do end up feeling too much pain, you can always raise your hand and tell them to stop, add numbing, and then keep going.7/10, highly recommend.

Can we talk about that one scene from Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story, Episode 5?

Jesus. That one fucking scene (Which is basically the whole episode in one take) was hard to take in.
But, its also genius. There's no sanitization. It forces you and the character to confront what happen. There are no cuts. No fun moments meant to distract. Just one 'Broken Man' recounting the abuse. If you don't get what the director is trying to achieve in this scene, I can't help you. Holy shit this scene...

Monsters: What the hell was that ending?

I may be in minority here, I think the show was more good than bad, particularly the 6th episode which took a dive into Jose’s backstory. The last two episodes were a let down , but I guess they needed to show how they lost the case ultimately.With that said, what the fuck was that weird MCU-like ending? Are they seriously trying to imply the boys were lying? Especially in the final scene?

YSK Avoiding a situation is the best defense.

Why YSK: There are lots of people who focus on weapons and security devices for defense: buying guns, pepper spray, martial arts training etc. In reality, these are only tools that help. The most effective tactic by leaps and bounds is situational awareness and avoidance. If you're truly serious about keeping yourself safe, the vast majority of your energy should be spent on detecting a threat before it becomes a threat to you, and avoiding it entirely. This requires a holistic approach, you have to learn many different skills to be effective. Here's a hypothetical example: you're walking to your car after work, fumbling for your keys or staring at your phone. You get to your car door and stop to unlock it. A criminal who's been hiding behind a nearby car jumps out and grabs you. You're now in a self-defense situation. Instead of being distracted, if you spent your walk to the car inspecting the parking lot, looking at the cars around you or even walked to your car with a co-worker while talking loudly, you might be able to see the criminal before you get close, or scare them into not attacking by being with someone else. You've now completely eliminated the need for having to worry about weapons or fighting skills. I'm not saying you shouldn't train for fighting, I'm just saying that you should plan to never need to. Being wary at all times and making smart decisions will save you far more readily than a gun will.

Standard vs Premium Plan

I have some friends who have the Netflix (Canada) standard plan, they live in 2 different places (same city though).For standard they have the "share with 1 person who doesn't live with you" rule.If you upgrade to premium they have the "share with 2 people who don't live with you" rule.So is it as simple as that? If we live in 3 different places, can we just go for the premium plan and all 3 of us can have separate accounts? Would it be restricted to our 3 houses, or would each account be free to use Netflix outside of their house (like if they go on vacation or use it at work or so on)?

Ok I get we all look at small letters and images on screens and paper these days. Is this why in the last 150 years or so millions and millions of humans need spectacles? Is it because we are meant to be looking at things from a distance rather than nearby so our eyes haven’t caught up?

Assuming you go through the trouble of photographing everything without packaging/packing cubes... how can they/you verify the specific model/year of anything in there??? A $500 new jacket and $50 jacket with a hole look the same, $200 vs $20 SD Card, what about things that depreciate fast like electronics?I know more sizable problems exist like the value of things in your house if it burnt down, I don't know how those insurances work either but at least that's involving police and lawyers.

Is it only me or does the episode description spoil the whole episode?

I watched the last season of prison break on Netflix and damn every description spoiled the whole damn episode. The good thing about Disney is that it never explicitly explaines the episode. It just has a very short description which literally explains nothing and thats good. It's better than Netflix spoiling the whole episode. The preview for better call Saul shows such a big portion of the story. Same with maamla legal hai. It's either that or Netflix just mentions the awards the movie/show has won instead of writing the story.

ELI5: 10 Degree Incline VS 10% Gradient on Treadmills

What's the difference between 10 degree incline and 10% gradient for treadmills? Which one is the harder workout given the same speed/time?I recently bought a walking pad with 10 degree angle incline. It definitely gives me a good workout. When I go to the gym, I use 10% gradient and that's a great workout too. The 10% gradient feels steeper though. Can someone explain these concepts to me please?
