I was watching a video on Studio Ghibli and they showed this 4 second crowd scene and claimed it took Studio Ghibli animator Eiji Yamamoto 1 year and 3 months to complete. I understand art takes time but it felt insane to think over a year for 4 seconds.

ELI5 Help me understand tarrifs

So every time I see someone talking about tariffs, they are saying that the average person doesn't know how they work because the tax is paid by the company that purchases the imported goods, which in turn means that the cost will then be passed onto the consumer.Why then are these foreign leaders upset and are taking retaliatory measures to these tariffs. If the cost is truly 100% passed onto the American consumer, then wouldn't these foreign countries not care?Edit: ok I understand nowHigher prices on foreign goods means American consumers won’t buy those particular imported goods due to the higher prices from the tax, which means foreign companies won’t be making money because American companies will stop purchasing these imported goods due to them not selling.

premium is now going from $24.99 to $33.98 PRE TAX. why on gods green earth does it even cost $24.99 to even raise to $33.98?! how much longer until we are charged the amount of a cable or internet bill??? this is utterly ridiculous. are you including live tv with this subscription?! i don’t pay but my boyfriend does bc he uses it the most. they don’t have to worry about losing him as a customer but im willing to bet their customer count is going to severely decrease & backfire for taking advantage of their customers yet again. the amount of price increases over the years never made any sense. there’s nothing new or exciting released as a result of these multiple increases to benefit your customers unless im totally missing something on the app. how does everyone else feel about this?

Stop hating on normal shows - the night agent season 2

Hey, so I recently read a post about how awful the night agent season 2 was and honestly it wasn't that bad. Of course it's not perfect, but some of us are loving the show and because of hate posts all series are getting cancelled. I understand that people don't see the logic behind some stuff or that a character ist annoying. But oh my god... do you really think that every human being isn't at some point in their life annonying? It's realistic that Rose can't decide if she wants to stay or to go. Every normal human would act like that. But for some reason you guys always want some perfect series with perfect plot and perfect people. It's just a show. Don't take it so serious. You can criticize it, but come on, they didn't want an oscar for the night agent. In the end of the day, I want to escape my real life, watch a show and forget about my problems. But because some people think they are smarter and better than everyone, my comfort shows are always getting cancelled.

YSK: bear bells are largely ineffective at keeping bears away

Why YSK: effectively identifying yourself to bears is paramount when in brown bear country. Bear bells are not great at that.You've seen them in outdoor stores and heard them on the trails: little jangly bells that attach to your gear and make noise so you don't surprise a bear. Easy peasy, right? Well, not so much...They are not really all that loud. If it can't be heard from a few switchbacks away, it's not loud enough to alert bears at a distance. They're certainly not louder than running water if you're hiking near a river.Bears don't know what that sound is, and therefore don't associate it with danger. Human voices, cracking branches, loud sudden noises? They know to head in the other direction. But soft jingles? There's nothing in that sound that would trigger a bear to leave the area. They know what danger sounds like; a little bell is not an alarming sound that would instigate the flight reaction you're looking for.Repetitious sounds become easy to ignore. Animals (humans included) are much more likely to react to an irregular sound, like a sudden shout, than a soft, repetitive jingle. Bells run the danger of becoming background noise.So what should you do? If you're in a group (recommended), make sure you're talking amongst yourselves. If silence is what you're looking for, AT LEAST give a good shout every five minutes, especially if you're cresting a hill, coming 'round a bend, entering brush, or in some other situation where visibility is limited. If alone, intensify these efforts and make it a game. I like to very loudly list all the Pokémon I know...it usually gives me a few hours of content (yeah, yeah, I'm a nerd). And remember to be loud and shout it out-you have to be much louder than a bell. You might feel a bit crazy, but it's the best way to be safe in bear country. Remember: the vast majority of bear attacks are defensive as a result of surprising a bear. There's no need to hike in fear as long as you're taking the correct steps to respect these animals. And always carry your bear spray. Happy hiking!Source: park ranger who does a lot of solo hiking in brown bear territory. Also tired of hearing people jingle-jangle through the visitor center 8 hours a day.TLDR: bear bells are neither loud nor alarming enough to keep you safe from bears. You're better off using your own voice.
