ELI5: How hard/easy is it to optimize a game post-release

For context, I am a PC gamer that is okay with running a game on lower settings, as long as it can run at all with no crashing and above 40 FPS. (I don't do consoles because of a variety of reasons, none of which are relevant for this post)I've heard a lot about Triple A games releasing in sorry, un-optimized messes and taking months if not years to get a stability/optimization patch. For some games I hear that it only began to run well years after because computers got powerful enough to run it flawlessly, and that's ludicrous to have a game only being able to run on max on computers that don't even exist yet.I only started to think about optimization when I personally experienced GPU memory leaks with games like Marvel Rivals, and just Monster Hunter Wilds' released state.For anyone who isn't in the know about Wilds specifically, high-end PCs report framerate drops and stuttering, and even people who's whole job is to give advice on what settings to run so that the game runs at 60 FPS, don't know what to recommend because the game refuses to run at 60 FPS consistently no matter what you do (See Digital Foundry's video)As a person who's eyes tend to glaze over when trying to look up ways to optimize my PC for these games, how hard is it from a developer's standpoint to optimize a game?

I HIGHLY recommend Toxic Town!

Typical British production with incredible actors, well-written script, and compelling story. Thought it might be too much of a bummer but then I saw who was in it and gave it a shot. Watched all four episodes yesterday and stood up cheering when it ended.

Why ysk: most people use Firefox over chrome solely because of privacy and this change in their tos means they can now sell your data just like Google . My advice : switch to librefox(I have already done so myself), it is a privacy focuse fork of Firefox .

American Primeval

Really enjoyed this latest Western from Netflix which was surprisingly good and was up there with Godless in terms of quality. It's a pity they didn't make it 8 episodes as it's a very interesting period in American history especially the evolution of the Mormons and their bloody past. The cast was excellent especially rhe always reliable Betty Gilpin and Taylor Kitsch who is good in most things despite some of the hate he gets from critics. Shea Whigham is impressive as always and must be one of the best character actors working today. Also nice performance from Dane Dehaan who always delivers a memorable performance and really should be a bigger name in Hollywood. A quality show that stands out amongst all the rubbish on Netflix.

Cannot download Netflix episodes/movies to Windows laptop - alternatives??

As we all know the issue of Netflix removing the download button for episodes on Windows PCs (meaning that we cannot watch Netflix offline anymore during long flights for instance), does someone know an alternative? A legal website offering movies which I can download on my laptop would be great.Screen mirroring from phone to PC also doesn‘t really solve the issue, because why on earth would I want to use my phone for that long unnecessarily just to screen what used to be a built-in function of Netflix on PCs…?

What the fuck am I watching? I am screaming at the screen on how gullible they are, next minute I just have tears from laughter.90% of these people who get scammed is because they behave like gold diggers. Just like the tinder swindler victims. Rich guy likes them, and they lick their lips by the thought of having a relationship with them, which blinds them for the obvious scam. They are promised riches and instead get scammed out of all their money and more. All by the promise of living a rich life, in an expensive house in an exotic location.And then the glaring red flags being ignored. Like this woman whos bank accounts were frozen as the bank told her the transactions were flagged as fraud. She wouldnt have it and told the bank to unfreeze the accounts, and kept sending money to her love rat. Friends were screaming at her to stop it but no, this was true love.Then the woman with the guy telling her his daughter had died. She then finds out he is a scammer because he told her she was stupid for getting scammed by him. He then makes up with her and scams her out of even more money. HOW?!The woman who flew to Sri Lanka to meet up with a hotel bus boy, ended up being proposed to and then ended up at the dudes parents in a metal shed and no one spoke english.The woman who broke up with her husband because he cheated on her, but after the divorce kept him on to do her books and defrauded her in the process.The woman who was talking to a guy online, didnt really go anywhere, he was rude to her, she cut if off, but he then send her a screenshot of an investment. And she immediately had her head turned, fell for the fake investment app, and got scammed out of 50,000$. LOLThe woman who met a millionaire, guy was in Dubai for business, but she ended up sending him money because his GB bank account were frozen. She asked him if there was no else who can lend him money. He literally said, yes if I need a million pounds, but not for these small amounts. LOOOOOOLetc et etc.You cannot be this stupid. Sorry.
