ELI5: Why do so many older, experienced people have trouble finding work?

It seems as though older people have trouble getting interviews in most industries. In education, even when there’s a teacher shortage, it’s very difficult for most 40+ teachers to even secure an interview. In technology it’s a similar thing. While I can understand there’s going to be an assumption that the younger workers are more in-tune with newer technologies, it seems odd that it’s assumed older workers already working in the technology industry wouldn’t have these skills. Is it based on bias? Or an assumption that they will command a higher salary? Or are there more legitimate reasons to avoid older workers?

Has anyone watched Temple on Netflix? I’ve heard a bit about it—Mark Strong stars as a doctor who runs an underground clinic in a subway station, treating criminals and people in need of urgent medical help. The premise sounds interesting, but the reviews seem to be a bit mixed.How is the show overall? Does it get better as it goes on, or does it stay slow and predictable? My account we completely deleted even though I had paid last month and it still had a valid payment
At /r/netflix
Got home to find all my devices were logged out and then Netflix said my username and password didn't work. Tried the Forgot my Password link and it said there were no accounts linked to my Email or Phone number. Then I used their account finder form to check the credit card number on file and it also didn't exist. I knew I had the right number as I had found the payment made last month.Anyone else have this happen?

recommendations for good thriller/mystery shows?

i have been trying to find good mystery/thriller shows on netflix to binge-watch but most of them feel so unsatisfying for some reason... i really like the mainstream ones like "wednesday" and "a good girl's guide to murder"; but the harlan coben ones and shows like "the watcher" don't really have the best plot conclusions :") do you guys have any suggestions for any good and fun to watch mystery or thriller shows? thank you so much :)

I've noticed this a while ago when those annoying LED drivers were blinding me, I tilted my review upward to deflect the blinding lights and saw that the mirror reflected and exact image behind me but considerably dimmer, how does this work?Edit: Solved! (For me) I had no idea it was two mirrors with one being two-way. Definitely super useful features, I still don't like LED headlights! Lol

ELI5: Why do led lights need resistors

If an led naturally has voltage drop in it, then why wouldn't we just connect a bunch of them in series so it can be powered directly from rectified wall power? It has been kinda irritating me every time I hear that the most common part of failure in an led light bulb is the resistor for the leds.

After paying for netflix for over 6 years, when the 9.99 then 11.99 sd no ad version was cut and I was forced between 6.99 and 15.99 I was put on 6.99 and its so bad I just cant keep it and at 15.99 its so much compared to MAX (free for me) that I am truly going to cancel this coming year. To me this is how NetFlix will join Blockbuster and Redbox out of business

Help me choose a new series or a movie to watch

I am extremely picky when it comes to choosing a new series to watch. It does not have to be a netflix original. I love histororical shows and documentaries that are HISTORICLY ACCURATE. Sarly the only documentary that I found up to standards in a way was Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan. And even this show had a LOT of cons. I do like historical satire tho like 1670. If you are making a show about a real historical person make it ACCURATE. If its a made up story , go for it. hate hero/villain movies. I dont like usless diversity and pointless romance(sex scenes). I enjoy thriller, comedy, a bit of drama doesnt hurt. I dont like Sci-fi. I love it when the movie is in the language where the story is happening. I like nature, advanture. I LOVE EPICS (Ben hur, Lawrence of Arabia) I watch a show for the story and i frequently drop shows because they get too repetitive and generic . I dont think i have ever watched a tv series with more than 2 seasons on netflix MADE by netflix producers (especially american production team) that i have genuinely liked or finished til the end.
