How do I get Netflix to work at a second home? Need help

So I read that you had to go to the primary home, sign into Netflix at that home from the Wi-Fi with your phone, stream something, then go back to the second home, stream something on that homes Wi-Fi, then it should work on the TV.Well I did that and it’s still showing “This TV isn’t apart of your Netflix household” on my TV.How the hell do I fix this?

Are people really able to just download a movie or show right off Netflix?

I see that button for download but didn’t think that literally meant “since you have this subscription you can just download what you’re watching onto your current device.” Is it?I saw a quick comment saying it may depend on the plan you have(?) or it doesn’t work like that anymore, but it seems odd that you could let’s say download a movie that would otherwise be leaving Netflix but you now have it on your device. Like is that what’s really happening? I always wondered.

Netflix Payment Method changed without my knowledge

Has anyone ever had their Netflix payment method change to someone else’s they know for seemingly no reason?So I was going through my finances and realised I hadn’t been charged for Netflix in quite some time, but I’ve been using it no problem. I log on to my account on the website and the payment method is a card I don’t recognise. As far as I knew, I hadn’t been hacked. The only thing I could think of is that a while ago, I logged out of my Uncle’s Netflix account on his smart TV, and into my own. I then went into my emails and found an email I missed that said my payment details had been changed, around 2 weeks after I logged into my uncle’s TV. I didn’t think he could’ve done it because he’d have needed my password to change the payment method, as I don’t think you can do it in the TV app and I didn’t write my password down anywhere. But when I called him, he confirmed it was his card. He hasn’t been paying for double Netflix or anything, he didn’t even notice. I have no idea how this has happened. My uncle is not a tech genius in the slightest so I genuinely don’t think he would’ve been able to hack my password, nor do I think he would try to do that. I’m just concerned that mine and/or his details have been compromised. Is there an explanation for this? Could he have changed the payment details without my password without realising he was logged into my account? Edit: I should also say that the only reason this flagged to me is that I stopped paying for my Netflix several months ago as I barely used it, only to log onto to find it was working again. And that’s when I discovered the unfamiliar bank details that turned out to be my uncle’s.

ELI5: Why do individual web sites ask permission to set cookies? Shouldn't our browser be the one asking us to set a cookie or not?

I understand what cookies are and generally how they work. They're a file on your computer that a web site sets or alters to track you, so you don't have log in to your online accounts over and over, and things like shopping carts work, and so advertisers and government spooks can track you.Many web sites ask permission to set cookies, because of the GDPR, and probably other laws. My question is:Why do we regulate individual web sites like this, instead of regulating browsers? Is there a technical reason why we can't regulate browsers to reject or accept cookies, rather than regulate every web site in the world to accept or reject cookies?I am really trying not to soapbox here, but regulating a gagillion individual web sites, instead of regulating a handful of browsers, seems completely insane to me. There has to be a technical reason why they didn't do this, but I can't think of one.A browser could easily be set up to ask you every time a web site wants to set a cookie. You could even tell the browser not to set cookies this time, or not to set it for an entire domain, or you could tell it to not set cookies anywhere, and you will tell the browser when you want cookies set. This would give us one (hopefully) simple interface for all the cookies, everywhere, rather than forcing us to learn to navigate a new cookie permissions dialog on every web site. If you don't think learning what to click on when you get a pop up like that is hard, then you have never had to help an 80-90 year old relative use the internet.Regulating the browser also removes the need to trust the web sites, because web sites are ignoring our privacy settings, and selling our data, anyway. Even if they get caught, the penalty is a slap on the wrist, so they don't care.Is it really just that google and microsoft and the NSA have too many lobbyists, so we can't regulate them, or is there a technical reason why we can't let our browsers handle cookie rejection?

Ads don't play unless Netflix tab selected?

I just noticed something weird today on my laptop. When an ad is playing and I click off the tab, netflix auto pauses the content, and doesn't begin playing it again until I manually press play in the tab again. It doesn't auto-pause actual content when I click off the tab, just the advertisement. Has anyone else noticed this? Was this a new change just added?
