Just finished rewatching season 1 of The Night Agent and The Recruit.
At /r/netflix
My take is The Night Agent and The Recruit are smartly written, well-acted, and packed with edge-of-your-seat action. Who else is excited for the new seasons? Let's get ready for more thrilling twists and turns! 🎬🔥Anyone else planning to binge-watch season 2 for both shows?

YSK toothpaste may be causing your chapped lips.
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: You will use less chap stick if you rinse your mouth out better after brushing teeth. Toothpaste has a hydrophobic chemical in it. Notice the water repel from it when you spit in a wet sink? Well, that chemical still lingers in your mouth, spit and saliva if you do not rinse out properly. This leads to dried out lips which get worse when you 'wet' them with more saliva. Its a neverending cycle. Rinse your mouth an extra 2 times and you will use less chapstick. That chapstick was manufactured by the same corporate owner - GlaxoSmithKline as many toothpaste brands suggests why this information, while true and verified by dentists, is not in the public knowledge lexicon. One product indirectly funds the other.https://www.hinsdaledental.com/blog/5-toothpaste-ingredients-to-avoid/

Just finished squid games and it was phenomenal
At /r/netflix
I think I started ut on the 1st of January this year. Subbed of course. From the get go, I was highly entertained. Not for a second, was I anything but loving it.The Gganbu episode just sealed it for me. That was the most emotional episode(and the best—at least for now) I've ever watched in any form of entertainment. The ending was good, and although I initially told myself I would wait a bit before starting the next season, I ended up starting season 2 the next day or so.And....It was Great as well. Didn't exactly have the emotional attachment that to characters that season 1 did, but in terms of entertainment, it was just about the same.Thanos is really funnyThe ending was good for me. Despite what a lot of people say, I had no problem whatsoever with when the season ended. Obviously, I would prefer it went longer, but stopping the season there,I have no problem with. I can definitely wait and I realise that not everything the season started with needed to be finished before then(like character's development).Season 1 was 10/10Season 2: 8,5/10Therefore,by calculation, I rate Squid game:9,2/10Absolutely phenomenal. My favourite show so far except for One Piece(not live action).

Is Netflix shooting itself in the foot with these constant price hikes?
At /r/netflix
I’ve been a Netflix subscriber for years, but with the latest price hike for the Premium plan (now $24.99/month!), I’m really starting to question if it’s worth it anymore. They keep raising prices while pushing out content that, honestly, doesn’t always hit the mark. It feels like they’re making us pay for their poor-performing shows and movies instead of focusing on producing quality content that people actually want to watch. And the password-sharing crackdown? I get that they want to boost profits, but it feels like they’re ignoring how modern households actually function. Not everyone under one account lives in the same house 24/7—people go to college, travel for work, or stay with family temporarily. It just seems dumb to alienate loyal customers who aren’t trying to cheat the system but just have a normal life.A lot of people I know have either canceled their subscriptions or switched to other streaming services that offer just as much—if not more—for less money. It just doesn’t make sense to me. If they’re losing subscribers because of price hikes, why keep doing it? Shouldn’t they focus on improving their content and keeping people around instead of squeezing every dollar out of us?What do you guys think? Are you sticking with Netflix, or are you moving on to other platforms?

ELI5: Do other animals get "bored?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
I know theirs some really smart animals that do get bored but I'll see just a random spider sitting in its web all day. Do they just blank out untill thrir next meal or mate comes? Or are they just sitting there mindlessly without a thought.I know this is a hard answer because we cant physically ask them but i figured with our brainwave technology we woukd be able to figure it out. "Just like how elephants have the same reaction to us as we do to puppys. They think were cute!"I put bored in quotations because i know bored isnt the right answer for other creatures as they also have no perception of the feeling. Just like how fish dont feel pain but they can feel uncomfortable or a pressure from a hook/knife and know that it isnt a good feeling.

ElI5: What do farmers of large farms actually do?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
When we hear "farmer", people often have this image of Old McDonald working the farm with his family. But very few farms these days are small homesteads such as those. Most farms, whether animal factory farms or large-scale agricultural farms, have a large amount of workers on them. But, what does the farmer do? Other people work to pick the food, grow the food, deal with the animals, etc. So what is the farmer's job? Are they the person who owns the farm? Do they regulate what is done on the farm? Do these farmers do any dirty work themselves?

Shows similar to Archer or Spy x Family?
At /r/netflix
Hi y'all. I am fairly new to all this anime stuff and kinda got into it by randomly coming across Archer and binge watching it within a few days. Recently I was searching for something similar to archer and found spy x family, which sounded similar, but was yet fairly different. Anyways I also reallg enjoyed that one and am now needing recommendations on other, similar shows that are either just "sweet" like spy family or unbelievably funny like archer, or a mix of both. Thanks in advance

Has there ever been a worse adaptation of a book than “All the light we cannot see?”
At /r/netflix
This is the first book that I’ve read of 2025 and I loved it, so when I saw it on Netflix I thought it must also be good… wrong! The accents are bad, but they did not bother as much as the awful deviations from the novel. All of the Nazis are very standard evil characters with no ambiguity. It’s just “do this or I shoot you.” In the book they are complex characters with varying motivations. A major part of the whole story is Werner Trapped in the basement of the hotel with his friend (I assume in the show its the guy who dies in the bombings at the beginning). They have to survive days in the dark with no food or water before finally finding a way out, in which Werner immediately goes searching for Marie. Werner’s entire backstory is ignored. The characters he interacts with, how he struggles to stay himself while at the school, all ignored. The entire resistance in the show is ridiculous. Etiene wanted nothing to do with it because it endangered Marie, that is until Madam Manec died, then he starts broadcasting codes, but not riding motorcycles and wielding tommy guns. A huge part of the story is how her dad always made puzzle boxes for her to figure out, and the diamond in the house was a puzzle box that she figured out BEFORE Von Rumple shows up. I think the most bothersome for me revolves around the house itself. In the book It’s described as one of the tallest in the town. It is 6 stories high, and the access to the attic is through Etiene’s brother’s room where there is a trap door that he builds into an old, extremely heavy wardrobe. The attic is described as being too short to stand up in and there are no windows. Marie hides in the attic for four days while Von Rumple is searching her house for the diamond, afraid to even move for he may hear her. There is so much more missing or altered in the series that I could list, but overall I’m really disappointed in how Netflix took so many liberties with a story that was really well written. Rent over

Netflix is raising its prices again, but hey, that’s okay because I only go on Netflix once in a while anyway. They share a lot of their content with other streaming services, and they have a pretty limited selection of original shows and movies. So, it’s not really worth paying for something I don’t even use that much.

YSK: Whataboutism isn’t the same as real criticism—it’s just a lazy way to dodge the point.
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: If you’ve ever been in an argument where someone responds to a valid criticism with “Well, what about [insert unrelated thing]?” you’ve run into whataboutism. It’s not a real counterargument—it’s just deflection. Here’s the thing: whataboutism doesn’t actually address the issue at hand. Instead, it shifts the conversation to something else entirely, usually to avoid accountability or to make the original criticism seem invalid by comparison. It’s like saying, “Sure, this thing is bad, but look at that other thing over there!”This is not the same as actual criticism. Real criticism engages directly with the issue, offering either counterpoints or additional context. Whataboutism just throws up a smokescreen and derails the conversation. The next time someone hits you with a “what about X?” in a discussion, don’t fall for it. Call it out for what it is—a distraction. Stick to the point and keep the focus where it belongs. Don’t let this rhetorical dodge shut down meaningful conversations.

A Review and Blog System in the Netflix Portal: What Would It Look Like?
At /r/netflix
Hello People, Netflix, as a leader in digital streaming, offers a wide variety of content, but I have a question for you. Does Netflix's platform lack community interaction features? What if, one day you get to know that Netflix is Introducing a Review and Blog System which could bridge the gap between passive viewing and active engagement, potentially redefining how users connect with content and each other. if yes, then what features would you want Netflix to have? Could dedicated review sections for each title, categorized by elements like acting, plot, and pacing, make feedback more impactful? Would user blogs discussing themes, character arcs, or societal implications foster deeper connections? Could threaded discussions allow debates and theories to flourish, with moderation ensuring quality and relevance? Social features like a follower system, reaction options such as “Helpful” or “Insightful,” and the ability to share posts might enhance user interaction. Furthermore, what benefits would this system bring? Could it encourage users to spend more time on the platform, build a stronger sense of community, or highlight hidden gems for better content discovery? Might it also provide Netflix with valuable feedback to refine its offerings while differentiating the platform as a community hub rather than just a streaming service? However, challenges such as content moderation, privacy concerns, and managing overwhelming volumes of reviews and blogs must be addressed. Would AI moderation tools, robust privacy controls, and filtering options help Netflix tackle these issues effectively? Should the system be introduced through a phased rollout, offering incentives like badges or discounts to encourage participation? By seamlessly integrating the feature across platforms and collaborating with influencers to set a quality benchmark, could Netflix successfully implement this idea?In the end, the most important thing to know is, what's your take on it, "is such a system worth pursuing"? Could it elevate Netflix from being just a content provider to a vibrant community platform? By addressing these questions and challenges, Netflix could transform user interaction, making entertainment more engaging, personalized, and interactive. Would you welcome this feature on Netflix?

Netflix household

Does anyone have any accurate stats on whether the household setting has really benefited Netflix in the long run or done more damage ? Subscribers ? Packages ? And have people figured a way around it or have we all just accepted it ?
