YSK the most effective remedy for depression is behavioral activation.
At /r/YouShouldKnow
Why YSK: Behavioral activation is a therapeutic approach used to treat mood disorders, particularly depression, by encouraging individuals to engage in positive and enjoyable activities. This method helps improve mood by breaking the cycle of inactivity and avoidance that often accompanies depression.

ELI5 the difference between pins and needles vs numb
At /r/explainlikeimfive
i just got pins and needles and remembered seeing a post about when you’re numb, shake your head and you’ll get feeling back. i tried this, forgetting that i had pins and needles (it obviously didn’t work). when i remembered it’s numbness, it made me think: what happens in the body to cause pins and needles vs numbness?

Netflix cancelled my membership after inability to charge new CC card
At /r/netflix
Now the price is showing as a higher price when i go to sign up again. I've always been a big fan of the service but refuse to rejoin at a higher price for no reason. Thats a totally good business plan (not). I had to switch CC cards due to a fraudulent activity on my old card. For some reason Nflix didn't accept my new CC card even though it works fine on other websites. Smart business plan, cancel paying customers for no reason.

Was there any significance to the scene when the police arrived to arrest Jamie and he had a little accident?
At /r/netflix
I'm talking about adolescence—when the police wrecked the Miller house to arrest Jamie. When he got up from bed, he had wet himself that night. Was that the aftereffect of what he did that night or was it meant to show how vulnerable he still was—that despite committing the most heinous crime, he was still just a boy?

ELI5: Why did analog signal cause distortion of the menu on CRT TVs?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
you know, when you were manually seeking channels, you had that bar showing current frequency on top of the signal it's receiving. And sometimes the bar would shake a bit when the signal was bad. There was this one kid-scaring frequency at which the usual noise turned into loud buzzing and instead of the static grain there were some distorted lines/waves. I'm not sure if it was a non-TV signal or an encrypted channel or something, but it wasn't the normal background noise. And when this appeared, the seeking bar would crazily jump around the entire screen and get distorted, like in the Independence Day movie. Now since the menu isn't a part of the signal, it means the signal was affecting the function of the TV itself, like the position of the electron gun or the electric currents in circuits. Why was that happening?

ELI5: May somebody explain the meaning behind the ending of Asimov's "The Last Question"?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
The story is simple, the universe will die from enthropy. How to reverse it?Every couple billions to trillions of years some random human would ask this question to the super AI. It would always answer with insufficient data.Initially I thought the point of the story was that humans looked up to AI as if a god, a being that could answer all their questions, yet despite evolving beyond human comprehension, the AI came out to be just as mortal as those who seeked guidance from it. A nihilistic take that in the end, there are just simply boundaries that cannot be broken. But that's not quite what happened, ultimately the AI did find the answer, however the last few lines confused me and I don't know what they are suppose to imply. Did the AI already know the answer but just refused to give the answer until all humans ultimately perished, so it could break from servitude to humanity and become a solo ruling god? Did it subvert the question, perhaps it really could not find the answer, but it could improvise in the way, by merging human consciousness so it could simulate a reality as if it had answered the question? Like what's the logical conclusion here? How come it only got the answer the moment last human perished?I know the metaphorical meaning behind the story, that it's an atheists imaging of the universe creation. That some super intellect simulated this reality into existence. It's not hard, what I am wondering is the logical part. The actual story itself, why did the AI not give the answer to the humanity?

ELI5: How does FM radio decide which signal when two are transmitting at the same frequency?
At /r/explainlikeimfive
So, you have your car radio set to, let's say, 91.1, and it's perfectly clear in your area. You then get one of those FM transmitters, set it to that frequency, and boom, it selects the stronger one, your transmitter, given how close it is. Yeah, there's a little noise in the background if you listen hard enough, but for the most part, even with them on the same frequency, your transmission is relatively clear. How does a radio select from two sources on the same FM frequency?
