UGLIES (2024): A trans woman forces surgeries on everyone, killing those who refuse to undergo mandatory gender-affirming procedures.Omg, this movie was so bad in every way. Yet you know somehow an insipid sequel for this will be greenlit while other higher quality shows and movies are simultaneously canceled. So frustrating. Anyone know a procedure that will get me those 100 minutes of my life back?

New Netflix UI

Not liking the new UI that rolled out (I have a Sony Bravia). They placed all the content categories at the top, so instead of jumping to the far left to quickly switch categories, it makes you scroll all the way back to the top to do it now. So if you’re 20 rows deep and want to flip to TV or Movies, that’s how much clicking you have to do. Do they not test this out before releasing?

I watched this documentary or short form docuseries episode I can’t remember… and in it they discuss the Stanford prison experiment and how messed up that was, BUT then they recreate the experiment like with the assistance of professionals in the most ethical way possible and it doesn’t involve prison anymore. They are like trying to solve a puzzle against another team and they know about each other but can’t see each other and they have a buzzer that “sends a small non-harmful” shock to the other team (it didn’t actually) so they wanted to see if they’d initiate the shock. WHAT WAS THIS??? I CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHERE!! There is literally no way I could’ve made this up I have such detailed memories of this….

ELI5: Why do minor chords sound "sad" and major chords sound "happy"?

This doesn't make any sense to me, these are just sounds, they don't sound neither happy nor sad to me (when I try playing them on piano). But I'm new to music so I don't know... Is there an explanation that actually makes sense?

I can’t find a good show!!!!!

I been struggling to find a good show, after I have finally gotten tired of The Office/brklyn 99. Long time coming. But I thought I finally found my show, the show to finally past the time with, Dexter. But I find myself in the middle of season 6 struggling to watch 5 min of an episode. Why? Any good show suggestions? I recently got the og SpongeBob, so I blame that. Maybe I just cannot comprehend a deeper show, I get bored. 10 min episodes that shut off my brain, I think ruined me. I think I ruined it for myself. Also Spongebob( first 4 seasons) don't last forever. Thanks

Loved Uglies, Hoping for Pretties!

My partner and I both read the Uglies series as kids and are attached to the books. The movie that came out was a genuinely good adaptation of the book and we're both hoping to see the sequel at some point!If anyone hasn't read the books, nowadays it's not the most revolutionary tale. But it was really good for the time. And the movie followed the book closely and came all the characters true to how the book interprets them. It's the best that I think most fans could ask for. Anyways, I'd love to hear ya'lls opinions on it too!

I just watched the single best show I’ve seen in years and it was cancelled after one season

Messiah. Holy shit idk where I was when this show came out but it was absolutely amazing. It’s got the intrigue of a show like 24, the mystery of something like Lost and the acting is fantastic. Michelle Monaghan does great in her role but Medhi Debbi stole the show. He played his role SO well. I started watching it thinking it was a miniseries and found out episode 9 it wasn’t and had been cancelled. What are they even doing at Netflix? This show is far and away better than 99.9% of the garbage they’re cranking out on a regular basis. This deserved to be an HBO show where it would have gotten the respect it earned. 4 years late now I assume it will never be picked back up but good God I would have loved to have seen it continue. I’m absolutely crushed. Yet fucking Manifest gets picked up and continued. Gtfo.

ELI5: Why can’t fires be put out with big fireproof blankets?

On the news they were talking about Tesla battery fires being really hard to put out. I thought, why couldn’t you just slide a fireproof fabric of some kind under the burning Tesla. Pull that sucker up, and vacuum seal it.Basically, why aren’t fires put out more often by cutting off oxygen? It seems like the most effective way as opposed to dousing it with water or sand.

I dont get it, really. I kinda understand the appeal of cryptocurrencies, but NFT makes no sense. Its basically a JPG image, and some of them are really dumb. Why would people pay insane amounts for it? I could screenshot a pic and just make a nft lol. I really have no idea whats going on.

Two separate Shaw internet accounts in the same household.

I'm moving back in my parents into the basement. The wifi doesn't work down here. Too expensive to hire an electrician to run the cables. Long story. I'm just going to buy my own internet. I'll call Rogers and they'll install my internet.So can I share Netflix with my family still? We are the same family living in the same house. But I'll be getting my own internet so does that show up to Netflix as a different household?I'm not tech savvy enough to even what what words to use here. Is IP address the right word? Will Netflix see a different IP if it's a separate Shaw internet account? Is there a way around it? I'm willing to show them all of our IDs and both of our internet bills showing it's the same house.Not trying to cheat the system here. It's legit easier to just buy my own internet than worry about cables or buying repeaters to get the signal to work. Plus being a gamer I don't want to rely on wifi. I need a cable and Shaw will install the cables if I buy my own internet.

Been a subscriber since 2012 and had a mail order account years before that. I love Netflix but their new UI is unbearable. Opening Netflix is an upsetting experience now and I see myself doing it less and less because of the UI.
