ELI5: What is a “stitch” in your side when running? And why do they seem to happen to a specific side more frequently?

Title — when I’m running I pretty regularly get a stitch in my right side, I assume it’s something like a muscle spasm that may be on a side I’m overcompensating on or something, but what exactly are they?

ELI5: Why don’t all arrested crime suspects exercise their right to remain silent?

Talking in the US context. The Miranda warning says anything you say can be used against you in a court of law but never to support your case. So as I see it talking to the cops makes no sense irrespective of whether you have committed a crime or not. So why do suspects sit for hours long interviews with the cops?

Netflix pioneered paid streaming, and lead the way with pricing and convenience. But it's all in the past. Netflix killed the cable, but now it became the cable.I understand (don't agree with it, but understand) attempts to block using accounts in the cheaper countries. But nowadays, Americans are blocked from using their accounts abroad, because of different libraries. Technical solutions isn't the answer anymore. As a result, traveling with Netflix is impossible anymore.The whole point of Internet is that it removes borders. Netflix brought up borders INSIDE MY OWN HOUSE! Today, opening my app on my smartphone with my own account lead to mess with needing to reset all the devices' logins because of the whole "household" mess which suddenly arbitrarily decided that I'm doing something wrong. (I had no changes to the home network, it was all the same devices, same session.)This is it. I'm cancelling my subscription for good. I wanted to pay for movies and shows and support the creators, but Netflix made their service unbearable.Furthermore, from now on I'm pirating everything that I could watch on Netflix. If it's in the library anywhere in the world, I'm pirating it, even if I could buy it.And I'm encouraging everyone else to do the same.

ELI5 If you play the exact same same note on two different musical instruments the sound will not be the exact same. What changed and what stayed the same?

Second related question, if you get two people to say the word “hello” they will sound completely different but you will be able to hear that they both said hello. I'm a foreigner but work for a US company. The company gave me some stock (on E*trade) which I sold, so there is some money, and I'd like to wire the money to another account, which is also in US (firstrade)The wire took several days and charge me 25 US dollars. In my country, wire transfer between different banks is near instant and charge less than 1 US dollars.So my question is, is it how wire transfer normally works in the USA? Or perhaps it's because I'm a foreigner? If it's normal, what's the difference between US bank and other countries'?

Don't they pay these devs $300k/year? When I click on a show now, it just starts playing right away. What happened to viewing the synopsis? They also removed the "add to my list" button on the preview hero section. Presumably there is a whole team of UX professionals working on these changes. What gives?

The Perfect Couple Questions

Alright, just finished the series and have a few unresolved questions that have been bothering me. Here we go:If Broderick got the money wired to him, why was he desperately trying to reach Greer calling repeatedly to the point of crashing her book talk?Why did Greer call Broderick at 3:00am around the time of the murder?Why did the police chief never ask his daughter about her relationship with Will and if she had seen/ heard anything related to the murder? Seems like she could have provided some valuable clues seeing that she was friends with one of the suspects. Why did Amelia want to deny having seen Shooter on the B train? Doesn't seem like anything that remarkable or even interesting. Who was the guy that calls Merritt at the pool who she says has a code name and is "just some guy she's hooking up with"? If it's Tag, why would he call her while she's at the pool with his family? Does Tag have affairs as a way to turn on or get attention from Greer?Why would Benji hide the fact he's drawing or painting Merritt? Seems like something worth mentioning.I'm sure there's more, but I think that's a good start on the plot holes.

I've only seen four shows with them in, but of course all the episodes are from a few years ago and honestly.. the sequence is painful to watch Tbh at the time I thought they were weird and out of place. When I visit Asian countries I’m always surprised that food overall (groceries and restaurants) tends to be cheaper, even in wealthier countries like Korea and Japan. Even without tipping culture they seem to be able to pay their workers and keep prices low? How do they do it?

ELI5 why doesn’t more lanes help mitigate traffic?

I’ve always heard it said that building more lanes doesn’t help but I still don’t understand why. Obviously 8 wouldn’t help anymore than 7 but 3, 4, or maybe 5 for long eways helps traffic filter though especially with the varying speeds.

Can you lock a profile so that no one can make changes to it?

We leave our netflix signed in on our tv and occasionally guests (or their kids I guess) will change the profile names and pictures. Can I lock all of our profiles so that they cannot change any of the settings, but can still watch shows?

ELI5: Where is my weight going overnight?

I'm on a diet and I weigh myself every morning. Last night I weighed myself before bed. This morning, I weighed myself when I got up. I was 5 pounds lighter this morning than I was last night. I was a bit heavier than usual because I had had a friend over and we ate a bunch of pizza and I always drink a lot of water.In that time all I did was sleep. I didn't use the washroom to pee or poo or anything else that involves stuff coming out of me.Where the hell did all of that weight go? I understand that you sweat, but 5 pounds in 9 hours? That seems crazy.
