I think Carry On was amazing

They somehow made a movie about a TSA agent pretty entertaining. I thought it was similar to The Guilty starring Jake Gylenhall. Jason Bateman is… Jason Bateman who basically plays himself a lot in these drama’s, similar to his role in Ozark.The Car Action scene was so cool and well choreographed (camera work and fight)If your looking for something entertaining tonight or over the weekend, I’d give it a shot.

Thumb ratings missing

Did a search and didn't see any other posts. I rate shows mostly to remember that I've watched some of them already. I noticed some of the holidays movies/shows I watched last year that I know I rated are missing my ratings. Is this a system error or on purpose? Anyone else have this issue?I still see them and can rate again so the thumbs themselves aren't missing to clarify.

Netflix blocking: what does it look like?

Netflix mysteriously stopped working at my local gym. Its saying I'm not connected to a wifi but I am. Fast, speedofme, etc shows 60down, 50up. Youtube still works. So the questions ate: what does netflix do when a network blocks that app or parts of that app that allow streaming? What does it look like when public wifi somehow triggers Netflix's safety measures?

Netflix and Safari Issue on MacBook Pro

I've noticed that when I use Safari to watch Netflix, the red "watched" bar is not showing after watching episodes of shows. I only see a "watched" bar on the first episode of each season, but not on any other episode. I don't have this problem with Chrome. But I've been trying to get away from using Chrome and am hopeful for a solution to watch Netflix on Safari. Any suggestions are appreciated!

How can I fix this?

A new movie came to Netflix today and it was nowhere in my suggested watching or newly added until I searched for it. I feel like I'm missing a lot of things I would watch because they don't show up in these categories on my homepage, but what does show up on my homepage are things I would never watch, particularly foreign films where I have to read subtitles. Don't get me wrong, there are wonderful foreign films, but I have to read a computer screen all day for work, so it's really not what I'd like to do in my spare time, not even to enjoy a film that may be worth watching. How can I change the algorithm, I guess you would call it, for Netflix to better suit me?

ELI5: Why do certain car brands much more realible than others when they are all priced basically the same?

So to explained further, take for exemple a Toyota Corolla which, new out of the stand is about 30k (in my country at least) and a Peugeot 308 is also priced around 30k, both comparable models within their repective brands, same engine size and similar HP, priced at virtually the same price but a Toyota is usually much more reliable than a peugeot. I would understand if Toyota would use better quality parts that last longer, but that would drive up the price and thats not the case, the difference in price is so small that surely it doesnt affect the quality of the parts.

The Best Series

I recently found a Netflix show called If My Wife Became an Elementary Student. It’s a live-action version of the anime, and I kind of regret watching it because every episode made me cry. The show was a bit awkward at times, but I couldn’t stop myself from getting emotional. It’s so sad that it only has 10 episodes. I can’t stop thinking about it, and I really hope they make a continuation.

ELI5 How do we understand words even if slightly warped?

Imagine if you taught a child the word cake but used a recording of the word cake (so that it was exactly the same each time) up until the child learned the word cake and would respond to the word correctly. Now imagine someone with a different accent said the word cake, the child would probably still understand the meaning even though the way the sound of the word cake was said differently (different tone). How is that possible? How does the brain makes a generalization of the sound for the word cake to where people with different volumes/pitches can say the word and it still be understood?

YSK: You don’t have to be perfect when making positive changes to your habits

I see people all the time decide not to change their habits or other people criticizing a change that someone is making because “it’s not enough” or “I just can’t make that big of a commitment”. However, small changes in your habits can make significant impacts on your life or the world (especially if a lot of people make small changes). Take for example the environmental impact of eating meat/animal products. It is a fact that consumption of these foods is worse for the environment, and a lot of people act annoying one way or another about this fact. If you want to help the environment you do not have to be vegan (I am not). You can take smaller steps! Cutting beef out of your diet alone can substantially reduce the environmental impact of your consumption. Reducing overall meat intake is also a good step. You do not have to be vegan to do a good thing. Similarly you do not have to walk everywhere to reduce emissions/improve your health. Maybe instead you could just walk places nearby that you otherwise would have driven. Or maybe you could take public transport or carpool more if it’s an environmental thing you are concerned about.If you are concerned about personal health. Maybe you can’t commit to a workout routine. You can just increase your activity levels throughout the day. Working out is awesome. Being more active is also awesome if that is the change that is possible for you to make. Ofc societal problems are best addressed at the systemic level, but if you want to help you do not always have to be the perfect person. You can just do a little bit better at certain things. Why YSK: The best type of change is the thing you are actually going to do. Don’t be too focused on trying to achieve perfection in yourself or others and start taking steps towards achievable goals. Doing less/more or doing some thing small is great too.
