Does anyone else think it’s annoying of Netflix that if you’re in the cheaper plan that watches comercials, they also block you from watching content like some of the newer movies? Isn’t it enough that we watch comercials?

I hate the oppressive filters and Dutch angles in American Primeval… anyone else?

I’m interested in the story, but I’m having a hard time getting past the awful filters and Dutch angles. I feel like those are features that I associate with “modern” films - not period pieces. So, it completely takes me out of the story.Anyone else feel this way? I haven’t seen this show up in any threads about the show and I’m really surprised.

ELI5: where does the mathematical function of multiplication take place in nature?

Im having a brain fart moment and dont know if this is the dumbest question ever or totally valid. Addition and subtraction make sense to me in the real world. If you have a stick and add another stick you have two. If you have 3 and take 1 away you have 2. But where does multiplication take place in the natural world? I cant think of any situation it would be represented. Edit: lot of great answers. I guess I asked it kind of wrong from what I intended. I meant to ask it as is there a function of nature that can only be explained using multiplication and not just repeated addition. Or is multiplication just a step up in equations to streamline and shorten writing out addition/subtraction

Netflix Not Working but like it's really weird

So for some reason Netflix is only allowing me to watch Netflix original content. But what's even weirder that it's only on my specific profile and only while on wifi. The other profiles on our account work fine and my profile works fine on data. But what is also strange is that not all Netflix Original Content is available. For example Lucifer is gone. Maybe because it was acquired idk.I'm just very confused on what is happening. Can anyone explain what is happening?

Somehow we receive emails where they adress to my daughter(s account). Apparently she’s the first one to adress to. Also, all the watch suggestions are for her. How can we change this? She’s also on top of the accounts but I thought it was because it’s in alphabetical order.

ELI5: If Flash Memory and SSDs have limited writes and suffer electron drift, then doesn't that mean that anything that uses flash memory in any form will eventually fail and be unrepairable?

If all flash memory will eventually fail, does that mean stuff like the read only BIOS files in motherboards, or small amounts of flash memory used to store inputs, such as the ones used in dumb tv's, microwaves, and cars etc will all eventually fail because of electron leakage?Doesn't that mean that the vast majority of all electronics made after the 90's will eventually fail and be made unrepairable?

Younger has become our new "guilty pleasure"

My wife was intrigued by the preview clip, so i popped the episode on for her. She laughed so hard, she peed. We're now halfway through season 5, so getting into the home stretch.If i had to describe it, I'd say Schitz Creek meets Hart of Dixie with Emily In Paris style. If you liked any of those, it might be worth giving it a go. Oh... I was also told that the Kdrama Romance Is A Bonus Book is loosely based on Youmger. And yes... I can see the connection, but definitely, "Loosely."

A lot of viruses and bacteria can survive days and weeks on surfaces, we are exposed to hundreds of sneezes and coughs from the people around us every day, our phones are apparently dirtier than toilet bowls and we eat food prepared by others in not necessarily germ-free conditions. How come most of us just get sick just a couple of times a year if we have probably been exposed to the same germ numerous times in the days, weeks and months leading up to the sickness?
