The argument from the “America First”/“pro-freedom” crowd on why to keep Soda and Candy on SNAP benefits is hilariously hypocritical.

But, Trump pays for it with his own money.
Are they saying taxpayers should not have the freedom to choose what benefits we are funding?
And the whole idea for low-income individuals getting food assistance is to get help with buying ESSENTIAL foods. In no way is soda or candy essential.
Nah, kick that soda off SNAP. I won’t be taking $1000 from Coka or Pepsi to shill that bullshit.
Yesterday afternoon, a bunch of conservative influencers all posted in defense of keeping Soda on tax-payer funded SNAP programs... all about the same time in unison.
Nick Sorter and others pointed out that these influencers are being offered upwards of $1000 per post to shill for these Soda Companies (Coke earns a few billion dollars per year from soda being allowed to get bought with SNAP money, big incentive for them to lobby)
