A bit alternative point of view on jazz, rock, punk, blues and other great music. CD rips from a private collection. For purists and junkies who love this magical sound. With a pinch of movies and art.
Madrugada - The Nightly Disease 2001 #rock #alternative #dark #myrip #Norway
It is widely regarded as a significantly darker, more mysterious, and atmospheric record, famously described by the band as "depression caught on tape." - Internet
Rose 2026 #movie #noir #drama #Austria
It’s a story of gender stereotypes, satirising the central mythic tenet of patriarchal Christianity and depicting humanity’s self-invention through violence and stealth. The chief influence is clearly Michael Haneke’s icy black-and-white film The White Ribbon from 2009, on which Schleinzer worked as casting director; Schleinzer shares with Haneke an interest in leaving the audience with an intractable, insoluble mystery: a problem that won’t tie up. - Internet

Puscifer - Existential Reckoning - Re-Wired 2023 #electronic #experimental #remix #USA
If you enjoy the abstract approach that Puscifer musically represents, you’ll be more than happy adding this album to your collection. It’s a great mix of genres and talent that Puscifer should be proud of, and an album that should appease the alien life forms. - Internet

Caspar Brötzmann Massaker - Koksofen 1993 #experimental #rock #noise #myrip #Germany
Indeed, " Koksofen " gives the impression of Hendrix, the Swans , and Throbbing Gristle joining forces for a hearty jam session. Caspar Brötzmann and Michael Gira would make a musical dream team. He likely inherited his sometimes very free-spirited style from his father, Peter Brötzmann, the renowned avant-garde jazz musician. - Internet

Not a new album, actually. In May 2026, John Frusciante announced the Trickfinger 10th-anniversary box set, titled In A Box, featuring two new albums (High Low and Rotation) alongside reissues of Trickfinger and Trickfinger II on colored vinyl. The collection officially releases on July 10, 2026.

Swapmeet - Mount Zero 2026 #rock #shoegaze #indie #folk #Australia
Despite its familiar '80s and '90s alternative roots and often languishing style, Mount Zero is a fast-grower with songs that sidestep monotony and carry emotional weight. - `internet
Grinderman - 2 2010 #rock #alternative #psychedelic #myrip #UK
Anyone who likes the swaggering, the evil, the sometimes sexist growling and lustful Cave—the kind he also likes to portray with the Bad Seeds in 'Stagger Lee'—will find 'Grinderman 2' to be a downright perverse delight - Internet
Screaming Masterpiece OST 2005 #alternative #experimental #rock #indie #shoegaze #soundtrack #myrip #Iceland
"It bridges the gap between globally recognized Icelandic staples—like Björk, Sigur Rós, and múm—and idiosyncratic local discoveries such as Mugison, Mínus, and the Apparat Organ Quartet. The CD functions as a fascinating snapshot of a tight-knit, isolated, and hyper-creative Nordic community" - Internet
Hungry Ghosts - Hungry Ghosts 1999 #experimental #instrumental #postrock #myrip #Australia
Three young men who are produced by Roland S Howard and come on like a dry-cleaned Dirty Three, it’s clear what their remit is, and it largely involves just-add-violin nostalgia for times and places they’ve never been.
So this debut album is a round trip through bleakness and euphoria, and while the lovely tin-mug-and-campfire rattle of ‘Nowness’ and ‘Relief’ are pure folk lament, they also collect up klezmer, flamenco and mariachi trumpet to tuck under their tightened belts before heading home. Where Warren Ellis possibly awaits them with an axe. - Internet

This Mortal Coil - Blood 1991 #goth #darkwave #alternative #4AD #myrip #UK
Third chapter (and last) of the This Mortal Coil project, a multifaceted entity conceived by the boss of 4AD, Ivo Watts-Russell, that brings together under the same roof the best musicians of his roster, the genuine 4AD, a true label-fetish of a certain dark-wave genre in the mid-'80s. - Internet
Vox Low - Keep On Falling 2023 #postpunk #newwave #electronic #kraut #psychedelic #France
Vox Low merges genres to create an enchanting blend of soaring krautrock, funereal post-punk, hazy dub, and minimalist rock ‘n’ roll. While the tone may seem to harden, they also appear in a more pop and strangely brighter light. Solitude, melancholy flesh, fervor for outlaws clad in a pair of blue jeans, and the taste of metallic blood in the mouth—these are all the themes cherished by the post-punk bible—here, they are all beautifully captured in a collection of songs about faith and devotion. - Internet
Counting Crows - August And Everything After 1993 #americana #rock #myrip #USA
I’ve heard August & Everything After so many times over the past 33 years that I could probably sing every instrumental line back to you from memory – let alone every word to every song. Sometimes, you hear pieces of music so many times that you almost don’t need to listen to them to experience them, because they’re already locked in your brain. This album is like that for me, but that doesn’t mean I’ve gotten tired of hearing it.
Brenda (Hudson Whitlock of Surprise Chef / Karate Boogaloo / The Pro-Teens)- Bath Time 2025 #cinematic #indie #soul #Australia
'Bath Time' contains ten entrancingly melancholic ballads that earnestly express Whitlock's dramatic indie-soul sensibilities; encompassing the classically introspective nature of the poetic lyricist and the idiosyncratic use of soulful instrumental arrangements. The songs encompass themes of old romantic habits dying hard, familial rifts and unrequited love. - Bandcamp
Ed O'Brien (ex-Radiohead) - Blue Morpho 2026 #rock #jazz #psychedelic #electronic #UK
Blue Morpho is a modest, gentle exploration of being in the middle of it all and crossing over to the other side. O’Brien has reached a point in his musical career where there’s not much left for the band to prove, if they ever had anything to prove in the first place. Age also makes one grow more insular and less dependent on others. Our bodies slow down so that we can make sense of what’s important in the world: opening the door to a new morning and being lucky to be alive. - Internet
Steve Reich - Reich: Remixed 1999 #electronic #experimental #myrip #USA
Yup, here's classical music you really can dance to… or trance to, if you prefer something a little less athletic. This CD is about as au courant as you can get, and it's a great opportunity for stiff-collared classicos and green-haired kids to meet on common territory. - Internet
