Читать полностью…President William Ruto has announced that the government has shut down over 1,000 health facilities in a nationwide crackdown targeting fraud within the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Speaking in response to mounting concerns over corruption in the SHA Fund, Ruto said the closures were triggered by rampant fraud, including double-claiming, inflated patient numbers, and falsified documentation. The move comes after extensive audits led by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, who has already ordered the closure of several private hospitals found guilty of malpractice and abuse of the health fund.
Missing blogger Ndiangui Kinyangia has finally appeared before the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, just moments after his family denied reports that he had been found.
Ndiangui resurfaced after personally informing his family of his whereabouts. According to the family’s lawyer, Wahome Thuku, the activist—who had been missing for over 10 days—said he had gone into hiding at an undisclosed location, fearing for his life.

Missing blogger and activist Ndiangui Kinyagia is alive and in hiding, according to the family’s lawyer, Wahome Thuku.
Thuku revealed in a Facebook statement on Thursday, July 3, that Ndiangui had contacted a family member on Tuesday evening, confirming he was safe.
The activist, who has been missing for over 10 days, reportedly went into hiding due to threats to his life. His current location remains undisclosed for security reasons.

He passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, June 30, while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kenyatta National Hospital, nearly two weeks after the incident.
His death comes just a day after his family revealed he had been declared brain dead around midnight on Sunday.
The family spokesperson said that with no brainstem activity, they were waiting for doctors to confirm clinical death. However, legal restrictions prevented them from removing him from life support until his heart stopped beating.
