My L1B (Blanket) 1D was approved today on Nov 21. Thanks for all the valuable information and updates .
Sharing my experience here -


Went to the interview counter 28 (American lady with grey hair)
Exchanged greetings and handed over the documents to her.

The lady there asked my dependent to scan the fingers and asked below questions.
what is ur highest qualification
Asked to show marriage certificate
Once this was done he asked my spouse to take a seat in the waiting area.

Questions to me :
She first asked to scan the right 4 fingers
Which company ?
She wasn’t aware about the company name which belongs to Tata Group.Gave her the details

What does ur company do ?

How many years in the current company ?

What will you be doing in US ?

What does the tool do ?

What will be your salary in US?

Where are you travelling in US?

Then she said the golden words your visas are approved. Stamped the documents and handed me over the documents with green slip and asked to keep it safe.

Hello guys
I'm happy to share that my Blanket L1B + 1D got approved today.
Firstly I want to thank this group which helped with the slot updates and queries.
On October 8th when bulk slots opened up, I initially got an appointment for March 2023. On the same day I kept checking the slots for every hour or so and upon first reschedule I got a slot for Feb 2023 and after second reschedule I got a slot for Nov 2022.

We stayed at The Park Chennai hotel which is 1km away from biometrics centre and walkable distance from consulate.

November 9th VAC. Appointment time 8:30AM.
Reached the center at 7:40am. We were asked to stand in a long queue outside the building and they started sending only the people from 8:30 am appointment inside at 8am after checking your appointment and passport.
Then after getting inside, your DS-160 and passport will be tied together and later a sticker will be sticked on the back of your passport. After around 15 mins of wait time, they will send you to one of the counters where finger prints and photographs are taken and your DS 160 will be stamped.
Then you're done for the day after making sure that DS 160 is stamped and the sticker on the passport that was sticked earlier has all the details correctly.
Only DS 160 confirmation, original passport and appointment confirmation are required. We carried all other support documents but none of them are asked/required.


November 15th consulate interview.
Appointment time 10:30am and reached there at 9:30 am.

The people from 10:30 am appointment were asked to stand in a separate queue after checking your original passport.
From this queue, one by one was sent into the consulate building where upon reaching we were asked to arrange the documents in an order(Ds 160 confirmation, two sets of I129s and I797 and original passport). These were verified and rubber bounded.

We then were sent into another building were we paid the fraud fees 500 dollars with AMEX card.

Post the fee payment we were asked to stand in another line and were allotted a counter for our interview.

We greeted good morning, how are you and he did the same.

Questions asked

1. What is your company name?
2. How long you have been working in this company?
3. What do you work on?
4. Why do you need to go to US?
5. How long is the project duration?
6. Do you have children?
7. What's your base salary?

Questions to dependent
1. Are you working currently?
2. How long you have been married?
3. Show me your marriage certificate

He told that your visa is approved and return us a green slip along with a copy of the petitions and told that the passports and other copy of the petitions will returned to us.

Make sure you don't carry any electronic or metal items. I carried a normal mechanical watch and was asked to just put inside the bag or file.

One suggestion from my side regarding the interview is just to be confident while answering and regarding the slots - just keep checking the telegram groups and you will have all updates here.
