Here it is, a trustless system means that the participants (you, I, project) involved do not need to know or trust each other or a third party for the system to function.

Sure. When Defi projects were new , people accepted it very well ,but sadly spammers used the strategy of Defi token pre sale to scam people , and this affect so investor's trust in Defi project

Exactly, I recently came across some Ponzi schemes posing as Crypto projects and deceiving unsuspecting newbies.

The downside of this is that these people end up having the wrong impression of what Crypto is really about.
