Bitcoin Scales $58K for First Time 🚀
Another day, another all-time high for the leading cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin (BTC (+1.04%)) on Sunday set a new high water mark of $58,332.36, bringing the leading cryptocurrency's year-to-date gain to over 100% less than two months into the year. For all of 2020, BTC rose 305%.
At press time, the price settled back to $58,148.31, up 2.3% over the last 24 hours, and cutting the YTD gain to over 98%.
Some are attributing the eye-popping rise to tremendous demand from buyers looking to hedge against inflation as governments keep spending and central banks keep printing money in a desperate effort to keep their economies afloat during the pandemic. Yet despite all the printing and spending of fiat money, the key indicators aren’t reflecting inflation at all.
Through the insatiable buy-side pressure from exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuers, closed-end funds and large public corporations adding bitcoin to their positions, demand is massively outstripping supply.

Survey finds 5% of corporate CFOs plan to buy Bitcoin in 2021
A small scale study of financial executives has found that 5% of companies intend to invest in Bitcoin (BTC) as a corporate asset this year, with a further 11% stating they could do so by 2024.
The survey conducted by Gartner comes on the back of news that Tesla invested 8%, or $1.5 billion of its cash reserve, into Bitcoin. MicroStrategy Inc. who has also invested large sums into the token announced a $600 million convertible bond offering Tuesday with the intent of using the proceeds to acquire additional Bitcoins.

Futures contracts for silver surged higher on Sunday night as the Reddit-fueled boom in highly shorted stocks appears to be spilling over into the metals market.
Silver futures were up 8% shortly after the futures market opened, marking the biggest move in the futures since at least 2013. The contracts last traded up 6.8%.
The sharp move higher builds off gains for silver and silver-related equities late last week. Silver mining stocks Coeur Mining and Pan American Silver rose 16.9% and 14.7%, respectively, on Thursday and Friday. The iShares Silver Trust jumped 6.7% during those two sessions.
The spike in demand for silver appears to be related to retail traders in the Reddit forum WallStreetBets, which has helped drive trading activity in heavily shorted stocks like GameStop and AMC Entertainment in recent weeks.

Why Indian Market Is Becoming Bullish?
According to the data from NSE, foreign investors have poured over Rs 1.01 lakh crore into the Indian equity markets since the beginning of November.
A combination of low interest rates in the US and the weak dollar has led to inflows into emerging markets like India.
Low-interest rates mean the returns on US Treasurys are subdued and hence foreign investors prefer Indian markets, where the return could be relatively higher. Driven by the inflow from foreign players, the Indian equity markets have continued to hit new heights.
