—Don't make the payment in a hurry. Recheck the beneficiary. Once the payment is made, it cannot be reversed under any circumstances.
—E-wallets on phones normally require the user to be signed in. Make sure you password protect your phone, or that particular e-wallet app.
—Switch to 'guest mode' on the e-wallet app before handling your phone over to someone, to ensure that noone else executes any unauthorized transactions.

The government has confirmed that the new currency notes do lose colour. If the colour does not come out, then it is one of the signs of a fake currency. Also, here are 3 checks to identify if the note is original or counterfeit:
—Security thread, the line which pass vertically through the currency, appears green. On tilting the note, it turns blue.
—There is a small rectangle on the front side of the note towards the left bottom. On tilting the note, you can see 2,000 on it.
—The white portion of the currency will have watermark of Gandhi which is visible on showing to light
These 3 features are not there in counterfeit notes. So before you accept the notes, make sure you check these!

India’s first banking robot – Laxmi – made its debut yesterday in Chennai in the ‘City Union Bank’. It can provide answers for up to 125 issues, such as, account balances, bank charges related queries, interest rates, etc. This robot took about more than 6 months to develop. It is India’s first on-site robot bank helper. HDFC Bank, too, is soon set to launch its robot banking officer!

Celebrities who endorse products making misleading or unrealistic claims are in for trouble – according to new rules, they can be fined upto Rs. 10 lakhs, along with a 1 to 3 year complete ban. Broadcasters and publishers, too, will have to pay a fine of upto Rs. 10 lakhs for each offence. Companies which put out such advertisements will be fined for upto Rs. 50 lakhs, and a jail term of 5 years!
