because modding & UGC

and also verifiability when there's money at play (there's a history of poker site scandals, self-dealing WoW game masters)

even just changes to game mechanics or economics - on a blockchain you can propose opt-in upgrades

hi lobs

i need a GPT service where i can drop a massive csv, have the data embedded, and gives me a bespoke gpt app -> accounts, payments, etc...

is anyone familiar with a service like this?

i'd love to skip all the App/BE stuff for now and just GTM

I think stable coin integration would be cool, that way they can still sell in-game currency for a fixed price

pay 2 win games depend on whales who are already paying for the latest and greatest in-game characters/items. What is the use case of verifiability there? what are they gonna verify? how much money they lost buying it?

and yet, does gaming really need a full-blown economy with microtransactions for every fart like most web3 games are doing? i don’t think so. these mechanics start feeling like ponzi schemes, relying entirely on a constant influx of new users to stay afloat. it’s not even about bad games, it’s the monetization system itself that’s flawed. i think we’ll naturally go back to the more familiar revenue models: cosmetics (like skins in cs:go / dota traded on steam marketplace), and battle passes - content or not-related to gameplay balance boosts. but then, what’s the critical need for chain in that case?

you use existing blockchain/defi primitives to establish the market but still maintain control the supply of the stuff being sold.

The lower the time between blocks, the less LPs lose to cex/dex arbitrage.

most games don’t need to be on-chain at all

yeah but what's the point? Unless you are betting on the outcome of a game, provability has no use case for the end user.

Nice. RFQs are finally in DeFi 😊 we have RFQ also in our routing engine at mc2.fi - but we also compare it to defi and give the user the best route - means either the offered one or better.

Crypto should be only used for the economic part of the game instead of trying to decentralize the whole thing which just makes the experience worse for everyone

Can't speak to any services but GPTs can't read minds, maybe you could refine your requirements a little.

video games don't need crypto
much like they don't need microtransactions
interoperable assets are a pipe-dream, no extant publisher will embrace a neutral market they can't rent extract from
highly doubtful the blockchain integrations from M$ or sony will let gamers control their keys
where crypto can work is gamifying financial applications

that's unrelated to moving the backend of a game on-chain.
You can still join that market by design the internal economy in a way where on-chain assets are worth something more (es: gamePass, special items, custom mods, etc) then the in-game normal assets

You definitely don't know how much is the market of pay2win p2e games annually, it's a great opportunity with stablecoins adoption and on-chain card payments

not all game needs it. just like not all game needs a multiplayer mode. But if you want to have web3 for gaming, that's the only place where it makes sense. games that already lend itself towards having a marketplace for in-game items.

Even your provable game state will be generated by some code that will be hosted on a centralized server.

Since when the players feel the urgency of verifying the authenticity of an eventual match in a game?

Because then for example the results are always provable on chain and not some arbitrary code on a server/matching engine?
