Isn’t this the guy who went and met Elizabeth Warren and lobbied her to be more crypto friendly a couple of years ago? Like before the FTX collapse when there was still a chance of it happening? I thought that was pretty impressive he actually did that. I think his tweets afterwards said that she was polite but had no idea what she was talking about (as in she was criticising MakerDAO because she thought it was The DAO from 2016)

Because the entire world operates on the fact that we issue identities for real persons for various practical purposes? Passports, drivers licenses, taxes, school, etc.
Makes it easy to assure that any services are not Sybil attacked.
Had a similar opinion, but at the end of the day, even the most “purchased” fake users who click buttons for $1 airdrop - are still users who can stick around, trade more, engage with your content. Low chances, but still a chance. With bots representing such users the chance is a flat 0%. Weeding them out makes sense

Jupiter perps are basically GMX V1 rewritten in rust, with price impact. JLP is GLP, with all of its disadvantages. Jupiter perps are good for Sol whales to trade Solana with size onchain. OI is almost always skewed and with GMX V1 mechanic there is no way to balance it. LPs are obviously willing to take the risk because liquidity is super deep.
GMX V2 is a completely different product than V1, it has funding rates to balance OI and people can easily DN farm when OI is skewed to the long side.

I think the real question you sers are getting to is "do I care that traders on my protocol are bots or real people". All metrics considered, it doesn't matter, money is money.
But the stickeness doesn't form if those are bots.
You need random and retail flow to maintain advantage over others, and that doesn't happen if you don't have inefficient regular users
