Low liquidity and fragmented pools make it difficult to execute large trades. Additionally, there are not enough traders to offer economic incentives to LPs and attract liquidity to the market. This creates a chicken-egg problem where the lack of liquidity is worsened by its fragmentation, as these fragmented pools cannot handle large orders.

just look at the CEX market share distribution for spot, perps and options and you will get the point
there are 10s of Spot big places, 10s of futures CEXes, and only 1 liquid options trading venue. Any on-chain analogue couldn't provide the same trading experience, enough liqudity and acquire traders in that niche to even be in parity. that might change on HL
well I guess web3 users wouldn’t use offchain stuff so much anyway

But 3-5 x is okay
Also rewards is in blockchain tokens (insensitivises)
So some time protocol have rules that you cannot borrow and supple stablecoins in 1 account to abuse the system (for example it is rule in nostra - starknet lending)

if you are like me and didn't understand wtf @ivangbi and @minhhieung @pstr1 were talking about and scratched your head, I spent 2-3 hrs putting together some research notes for myself to understand re: pudgy. as for Ivan's q: I think Ivan is right about multi-value / income streams but I think, the new team coming from a web 2 background found ways to generate revenue across web 2 / web 3 streams successfully. Didn't delve much into PENGU tokenomics or utility.

Let’s imagine you deposit 100 USDT, and the LTV (Loan-to-Value ratio, the percentage of collateral you can borrow as a loan) is 75%.
This means that for 100 USDT, you can borrow 75 USDC as a loan.
Then, you exchange USDC for USDT on an exchange and deposit it again.
Now you have 175 USDT in your deposit, and you can take an additional loan of $56 USDC (since you already borrowed 75 USDC in the previous cycle).
Repeat these steps 2-3 more times, and you’ll eventually hit the limit.

ok. I see a lot of protocols now offering a bigger APY for supplying than for borrowing.
Say, “app.burrow.finance”.
What limits me from cycling supply-borrow-supply-borrow .. (in stables) infinite times to get the maximum profit (APY)?
