of the biggest EU countries are in the 55-60% range.

it's lower than in the US for those, but that could as well be as the data counts everyone with age 15+ and above.

in most european countries it will be hard to get a credit card approved before turning 18.

should be a lot easier in the US / canada


the debit card data is skewed as well as most banks switched to debit cards for account access (previously EC cards). that's why EU debit card usage is so highz

They don't. I checked the data. Only country that had significantly higher credit card ownership than 66% was Iceland, which is small place that it does not count.
