My high-level understanding is native stablecoins make the fraud proof period effectively irrelevant
Читать полностью…Been thinking about this GMX V1 hack its on ARB one of the criticisms of L2’s I have come across is that because of the fraud proof system taking 7days or whatever it is in this case its not finalised. Until it’s posted and confirmed on the L1 chain and so can be rolled back. If this argument is true it would seem to me the ARB foundation/offchain labs and GMX could just roll back the hack. I take it that since that is not happening that the argument is bullshit? Can better minds than mine please school me on this?
Читать полностью…There is also this book with lobster AIs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerando - a very good book for everyone who is into cyberpunk
Читать полностью…Just joined the discord and followed on X. Looking forward to seeing you launch this. 🤗
Читать полностью…The same applies for toxic order flow on DEXes. You fix the toxic flow issues, LP profit goes up, but volume goes down.
Читать полностью…I would also recommend Envio. Subsquid and Envio have now partnered up to provide this single framework https://github.com/steelcake/cherry
Читать полностью…Is there any Subsquid vs Subgraph comparison which you guys have tested?
I read somewhere that subsquid is 100x faster in indexing and had some numbers of like uniswap or sushiswap
What was value in keeping V1?
Was kg really needed
Maybe would be far better of protocols shut down outdated versions one way or another
Will be interesting to see if Frax tries to freeze these funds (if even possible). 10m$ would be where you start to consider acting right vs ethos
Читать полностью…Yeah, I don't think should grade Nexus as a failure just because they didn't solve the whole problem. I think it is going to take 100 Nexus-types to actually insure the web3 space. And that is how it should be
Читать полностью…Nexus failed. That was the biggest attempt. Ultimately, the insurance has to be huge enough to handle numerous (correlated) policies
Читать полностью…If there is a web3 model for insurance that can cover our own, I think that will eventually become a massive pillar of the industry

challenge period doesn't work like that
since the hack has happened, many more state roots have been submitted, and value has been exchanged across lots of other pieces of state
there's no clean way to "undo" things, challenge period or not
very interesting. I'd love to volunteer and help SEAL911. Can anyone vouch for me? (I can share twitter/git repo, etc. My specialty is on-chain data/data science things- logs/traces, etc.)
Читать полностью…Just wanted to post a fragment on DAO-like stuff, googled it and found your post on X

working on a cover on lobster-related interview, realized that there is lots of cool lobsters in art
Читать полностью…You're right, we actively encouraged movement to V2, even incentivizing the shift. But we maintained V1 primarily due to two strategic considerations:
The existing integrations built by numerous protocols on V1 were a major factor. Beyond that, V1's architecture was simply easier for more recently agents to integrate with, requiring less technical effort than V2.
Our long-term vision for V1 was to decentralize its remaining administrative functions completely. This would allow us to make it immutable, ensuring it could exist as a dependable, legacy product without central control.
The decision to keep V1 certainly involved trade-offs, and I'm sure we'll continue to discuss its long-term impact.
also not sure what kg meant in the context of your message?
can we run it on testnet where there is no 3rd party indexer?
Читать полностью…And MEV is quite a lot of the volume - and therefore LP pool returns, and therefore drives TVL statistics. So a chain without mev protection looks much better from the statistics side^^
Читать полностью…Yes, because there is no adoption yet. MEV frontrunners want to keep frontrunning.
Читать полностью…Pls check dms for continuous market mech. Prev convo at /channel/lobsters_chat/531982 above.
Eager to learn more about your project and goals!
Or just run a chain that is immune to MEV fuckery, like Gnosis Chain with its Shutter keepers

Читать полностью…I disagree - they have a fantastic product for small coverage which fits specific needs. We need people like nexus to help build coverage towers
Читать полностью…But institutions are using L2s and DeFi products to an extent, and providing better security is priority #1, but supplementing that with native insurance coverage is what could give L2s like Base, Arbitrum, Avalance, etc. the safety net necessary to really start allocating
Читать полностью…but then that’s saying fuck real money and stay isolated and small 🙁 The big boys we’re after reeling into our amazing tech want lloyds not daos
