Google Unveils Bard, Its ChatGpt Rival
The launch appears to be a response to ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot developed by startup OpenAI with funding from Microsoft.
Quietly launched last November, ChatGPT has grown into an internet sensation. And it has led to speculation that Google faces a serious challenge to the dominance of its web search for the first time in years.
According to Google’s CEO, Bard is already available to “trusted testers”. It’s not clear exactly what capabilities Bard will have, but it seems the chatbot will be just as free ranging as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Google said to be more widely available to the public in the coming weeks.
