Hi all, I just found out that updating my edge 30 neo is not working, probably because of the wrong boot file i used. somehow my last update was the febuary one , but i cannot find a reteu version of it., so i used a later version ( XT2245-1_MIAMI_RETEU_12_S3SSMS32.34-46-1-7) but now my phone won't update anymore. i think i need a ret-EU version of XT2245-1_MIAMI_RETEU_12_S3SSMS32.34-46-1-4

Unlike Nokia phones I've dealt with in the past, Motorola phones have a cid partition that assigns your CPU ID, phone region code, bootloader unlock identifier, etc.
This partition is signed and encrypted by Lenovo, so average people definitely don't know how to edit it - and you should never edit it.

1. If bootloader not unlocked (oem_locked), flashing a firmware from mismatched region stored in cid will refuse to boot. But you may still have chance to restore it back to matched region firmware.
2. If bootloader unlocked (flashing_unlocked), flashing a firmware from mismatched region stored in cid will boot, but you won't receive any OTA updates.
3. If bootloader relocked (flashing_locked), you will lose the capability of flashing official firmware under bootloader locked state. Also you won't be able to reuse the official bootloader unlock method again. If you still have firmware from matched region with anything untouched (e.g. didn't install Magisk), it may still boot. In many cases people want to convert to other regions firmware and relock it, then you killed the phone. You can only relock the bootloader when you're absolutely sure that you have firmware from matched region installed - if you're not sure, forget about relocking the bootloader.

Or bought on AliExpress with a "global" version and locked the bootloader on it?
