Suspected Drug Smuggler Apprehended at Airport
Local authorities, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department of Madeira, have apprehended a 35-year-old woman believed to be involved in drug smuggling. The arrest was made as part of an ongoing police investigation at Madeira Airport, resulting in the confiscation of a substantial quantity of heroin, enough to produce and distribute 18,000 individual doses. The suspect will be presented before the appropriate legal authorities and will remain in police custody.

Norwegian launching Aalborg-Madeira service from Feb-2024
The once-weekly flight, which will begin operating in February, will thereby provide a direct connection between Jutland and the Portuguese island. The announcement is part of Norwegian’s strategy to improve its range of services for customers based in Jutland, the company said in a press statement. Air Connection Concerns for Porto Santo
The termination of the air link concession contract with Binter Airlines has left residents of Porto Santo uncertain about the continuation of an air link to Madeira. The Regional Government, Chamber, and Binter Airlines are eagerly awaiting confirmation from the mainland government.
