Following yesterday's update - we intend to go through with the database maintenance tomorrow evening at 8pm UTC.

The aim of this maintenance is to increase her available storage, allowing us to keep her working as expected.

This will cause some downtime with Rose - we expect her to be unavailable for approximately 2 hours.

New Rose update!

Lots of fixes and improvements today, aiming to make Rose clearer and more helpful for everyone.

- Improved log channels. Log channels now log manual admin actions as well as actions performed through Rose! This should help you manage what your admins are doing in your chat, longer than recent actions.
- New /privacy command! Show's Rose's privacy policy, and allows you to export and delete your personal data. We don't store anything unless we absolutely need to, and we want that to be clear to everyone! Use it in PM to get more info.
- Limited the number of feds a user can be admin in to a maximum of 20. We've been seeing some people misusing federations to ban people in hundreds of feds at the same time, which harms everyone. If you want to share your fbans, use fed subscriptions instead - that's what they're there for.
- Fixed an issue with admin titles not being set as expected when using /promote
- Fixed an issue where /antichannelpin wouldn't work in certain chats
- Lots of bugfixes and improvements.
- Updated translations.

Rose update:

- Added support for admin-only notes and filters. Rose will only reply when admins use these! To create an admin-only note, add the {admin} filling. For example:
/save secret Shhh, only admins can open this note! {admin}
- You can see which notes/filters are admin only when you use the /notes or /filters commands.
- Improved the /blocklist command - you can now see what the custom blocklist actions are when checking the blocklisted words.
- You can now blocklist forwards and invitelinks from specific groups or channels simply by blocklisting their id. This is helpful if you would like to stop forwards JUST from those groups, but dont mind others! But if youre looking for blocking all... then check out locks.
- Other improvements and bugfixes.
- Updated languages.

If anyone speaks Taiwanese or Polish, please update crowdin as soon as possible - translations are behind.

Rose update:

This update brings CAPTCHA rules!
Make sure all new users in your chat read the rules by enabling captcharules. This will add an extra step to the CAPTCHA, asking users to read and accept your chat rules before getting unmuted.

Also:
- Added the /connect command to the list of disableable commands.
- Improved the output of /welcome.
- Updated languages.

I plan to move Rose to a new provider on Wednesday 10th of February at 9PM UTC (UK time). I expect this to take between 1 and 2 hours, during which Rose will be unavailable.

Once completed, this move should mark the end of the random downtimes that have been plaguing Rose over the last two weeks, and allow me to start focusing on new features again.

I will post again on Wednesday, when the migration process begins.

Rose update:

Rose's note buttons have been improved to make navigating chained notes easier when in PM. Those note buttons now work via callbacks, reducing the number of /start's that need to be pressed. This allows you to use note buttons to create your own navigatable menu, just like the /help! No changes are necessary for this to be applied, everything is automatically handled.

I've also updated some languages, since there were new contributions.

Reminder: to create a button which links to another note, use the [button name](buttonurl://#notename) syntax. Or just use the button generator!

Rose has just reached 200M total users, across 2.6M chats! 🎉

Very strange to look back to a year ago, when we were celebrating 60M total users - especially when we now have over 46M monthly active users!
This is no small feat, and we couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you!

Of course, nothing is perfect - with this massive growth, Rose is now, yet again, growing too big for her server. Her database has grown so large that she will soon need some maintenance to increase her storage.
This change will increase our costs, which leads me to my next point - if you enjoy using Rose, and want to support the project, please consider donating on PayPal, or even better - becoming a GitHub sponsor! This will allow us to assess exactly what we can afford for our next upgrade, and keep Rose running in peak condition somewhere nice. In turn, that should keep performance sky-high; everyones happy!

Will let you know over the next few days when our migration is planned for, and what our time estimates are like.

Small Rose update:

- Fix a bug where chat imports wouldnt import all settings.
- Reduced chat import/export cooldown times. Due to recent performance improvements, this can now be used once ever 30 minutes, instead of 3 hours!
- Fix a bug where permapins sometimes wouldnt pin
- The forward lock now allows for whitelisting of users/chats who should be able to be forwarded from. Simply allowlist their username!

The latest migration has been a great success on our side, so we're looking forward to adding lots of new features over the next few weeks :)

Minor Rose update:

- Rules now show "The rules for your chat name are:" before showing the rules.
This should make it clearer for users of captcharules that they're not just looking at a big blurb of text; these are rules that should be read.
- Any CAPTCHA that goes to PM (eg text, maths, or with captcharules enabled) are now shown in the original chat language. This should make it easier for non-english chats to use CAPTCHA features in their groups where users might not speak english.
- Updated translations.

If anyone speaks Taiwanese or Polish, please update crowdin as soon as possible - your translations are running behind, and might be removed!

Rose bugfix:

There have been a few reports of the invitelink lock sometimes missing links. This has now been fixed.

Also, added the 🇷🇸 Serbo-Croatian language to Rose, and updated existing translations. A big thank you to all those who contributed! :)

Digital ocean, my server provider, is having some major issues (again), so rose is currently down.
I'm investigating.

This has been fixed - Rose is now back online.

I've been communicating with Digital ocean for the last week trying to get an explanation to these random network drop outs. If they are unable to provide a stable service, I will be migrating to another provider - these issues are unacceptable, and not the right place to be spending donation money.

The telegram bot API has had a hiccup and stopped sending new messages to Rose.
Its now started working again, so Rose is catching up; she should be back up to speed in a few minutes.

Sorry about this; absolutely nothing I can do about it, since the issue is on telegram's side.

On the bright side, the new server is holding up strong, so that was a great move!

UPDATE: She is now fully back and working as she should

Rose update:
- New /help design! Some of the sections were getting WAY too big and illegible; theyve now been split into smaller, hopefully easier to understand, sections. Feedback welcome :).
- /spurge allows you to silently purge. When using this command, Rose will not say "purge complete" when she finishes.
- New locktype, album. This allows you to stop people from sending media albums in your chats.
- Updated translations.

Bugfixes:
- Rose now recognises the new invitelinks that were recently added by telegram.
- Fix some incorrect help strings.
- Some other small things.

Translations for Ukrainian have been removed, as they were missing a lot of strings. Taiwanese and Polish are also missing a lot, and will be removed if not updated soon. If you speak any of these languages and would like to contribute, or even add a new language, please join us on crowdin!
