The Chinese are reportedly now sicker than they've ever been, and so the Chinese government figures it's the perfect time to open the borders and ease travel restrictions, kind of like they did in April 2020.

Western and Eurasian media alike are working overtime to feverishly justify China's "Covid Zero" policy (i.e. strict lockdowns and heavy surveillance), hailing it as an unequivocal success. But if it was so successful, why weren't the Chinese able to contain the virus?

Maybe they're measuring "success" by a different metric...

Speaking of Eurasian media, the downstream regurgitators thereof are defending every GloboHomo policy agenda from money printing to mass vaccination. In fact, it seems like the only thing they DON'T like about GloboHomo is the "homo."

The tactical libertarian bit is an astute observation. All of these Total-State types suddenly morphed into Minimal-State libertarians when Biden started supporting Ukraine. They want Western States to be weak when that helps Russia, but they want them to be strong when they're handing out welfare checks domestically. They pretty much shape-shift in between these two extreme positions at opportune times. I also see them sometimes clamouring for abolishing the FBI, but how would that play into their Total-State ideology? That's shrinking government.

We don't have a free market. We have state protected oligopolies. Even companies that manufacture inside the US like Tesla are barred from selling their cars in certain states to keep the dollars flowing to other companies with a longer prescence in that state, like GM.

What you have to understand is that most of these big companies don't even support free markets domestically because that means they'd have more competition to deal with, which lowers their overall revenue. They love these protectionist type laws that keep their competitors out, thus limiting consumer choices for goods and forcing them to pay for the higher priced goods to keep business flowing to those companies. This may help those specific companies and their workers, but it hurts other companies and their workers and it hurts consumers overall who are forced to buy higher priced stuff.
