Johnny's Ghost debunks the Nuland phone call that vatniks claim proves it was a US-plotted coup.
There is no talk of an actual coup in the call and Nuland and Pyatt are clearly talking about Yanukovich's own offer to bring opposition leaders Yatseniuk and Klitschko into prime minister and deputy prime minister positions which he announced a week before that call was leaked:
"In three hours of talks, Yanukovych on Jan. 25 agreed to dismiss Mykola Azarov as prime minister and appoint opposition leader Arseniy Yatseniuk instead, with fellow opposition leader Vitali Klitschko as deputy prime minister. Yanukovych also agreed to release detainees arrested during more than two months of anti-government demonstrations."
On top of that Nuland says "fuck the EU" because they weren't doing what she wanted, meaning there was discord among the EU and Obama admin positions on the matter, not conformity. Ukraine has yet to be admitted into either NATO or the EU ten years later, despite this alleged coup being a success. Why not?
Nuland was meddling but that's not the same thing as plotting a coup. Later, Yanukovych himself fled the country with Russia's help, effectively forfeiting his position in government.
