Things that you’re doing that are likely hamstringing your ability to build muscle:
⁃ Poor quality sleep
Nothing will be worse for your capacity to build muscle than poor quality sleep. Sleep is when the muscle building process occurs, and being tired impacts the rest of your decision making in terms of actually lifting, the food choices you make and so forth. Excessive use of caffeine will diminish your ability to sleep even if you still ‘fall asleep fine’. Quit using your phone, artificial lighting or any electronics two hours before bed. Don’t eat too much before bed so you can digest your food before sleeping.
⁃ Lack of Sunlight
If you’re spending the majority of your time indoors, you aren’t getting the adequate vitamin D to synthesise testosterone, one of the main hormonal building block of muscle.
