there is a rajmahal-garo gap separating garo and rajmahal (so Rajmahal hills may be horst and gap a garben ,indicating they r block mts). Anyone has the correct explanation pls do reply

Hello friends i had a doubt, the composition of loksabha was Frozen as per 1971 census, since population imbalance has come up, between northern and southern states , delimitation commission was formed in 2002 , to look into the matter, but wat was the result, does the composition still continue to be frozen as per 1971 census????

Good morning friends, i had some doubts,

1) NCERT says that majauli island in bhramaputra is biggest river island, but majid hussain says that it's second biggest ( biggest is in Amazon river--- marajo island)

2) some sources say that luni river does not meet Arabian sea, some say that luni river meets Arabian sea thru Rann of kacch

3) some books say that jog (gersoppa) falls are highest in india,some say that it's second/third highest,

4) highest mountain also there is controversy between Kanchenjunga--8598m / K2(Goodwin Austin)--8611m

(if Afghanistan is neighbouring country of india, then by that logic K2, should be highest Indian mountain not Kanchenjunga 🙄)



Is it safe to say that upsc/state psc will stay clear of such conflicting information,
Wat to do other wise???

it is confusing little bit in NCERT they r given as block mts but in wikipedia as volcanic mts(so they may be very old fold mts). See there case may like vindhya satpura, yeh bhi kayi baar fold mts bne hain aur kayi baar block initially they were formed by dharwad and aravali plates convergence but there rift valleys were formed due to block mts formation hence they r presently considered as block mts in India. But i don't what is the clear cut case of Raj mahal hills

Hello ! Yes the LS constituencies are fixed as per 1971 census. However the exercise was done in 2002 as you mentioned, but the seats in LS were not altered in 2002 (this was as per 2001 census). After 2026, the freeze on the delimitation ends and then 2021 census will be taken into account while deciding the seats but keeping in mind the population control policy. The objective of Delimitation Commission is just to draw constituencies in a state.
