Why worry about what "they" are going to do with their currencies? Nothing we can do about it except exit that system. I get it that we have to use their currency to purchase fuel for our cars, to buy food if we don't have a local farm with which to do business, or, if still on the grid, paying for their services. However, asmuch as we can, we do need to exchange as many fiats for either PMs or cryptos, or both.

I'm unable to process the first phrase of your forwarded message because it seems nonsensical, combining the idea of a "ban" on CBDC's and surveillance by them. Seems like a red herring to build on for the rest of the message. We have no power to control their surveillance of their money or those who use it, the red herring inserts that straw man argument which is super easy to crush.
Is anyone here concerned about what "they" do or don't do as far as their money is concerned?

DCA'ing is the absolute best strategy thoughIMHO.
If you buy $500 or more of BTC from me, I offer you a lightning channel, pushing the sats over to your side. Then you can buy small amounts with zero transaction fees over the lightning network. A dollar a day will stack roughly a thousand sats, every day of sat stacking adds up over the long term. I try to add $120 or so of sats to my stack every month (~$4/day). That's probable more of your paycheck then you want to save but even 50c/ day is something when you're stacking the world's fastest growing currency.
AND best of all, it's a voluntary barter currency unlike what you're used to.
Yeah, gold and silver/etc are good, but they had millenia to be used and the population prefers lighter weight currency, another reason bitcoin is the top dog.
Crypto has no intrinsic value, except perhaps privacy coins that offer both privacy or portability. Crypto is a psyop to prepare the population for CBDC.

Regarding NYC or 1/3 of the BTC network, I'm ok with NYC losing power if they aren't producing or buying it competitively enough compared to bitcoin true believers who support the network by paying for transactions.
I agree, it is possible to get free satoshis for people who use nostr to participate in that messaging network. They're called "zaps". If you were to forward that message there it's possible you might get some free satoshis from people on there mocking you I imagine. Those value transfers are virtually untraceable as layer 2 offchain transfers, only traceable to the extent the participants allow such similar to monero transfers.
The ban on CBDCs doesn't stop surveillance, they can still go ahead with digital currencies (digital dollar) through the use of so called stable coins which are 1:1 mappings to the USD. So to avoid making it too obvious, the US government will instead make use of stable coins like USDC over proxy private companies which have been operating already for years.
So their plethora of wordings is done on purpose to create confusion:

A crypto currency is a digital currency
A stable coin is a digital currency
A memecoin is a digital currency
It doesn't really matter how you call it what matters is they all are digital currencies, embedding surveillance and control by default.
Bitcoin is a major worthless ponzi scheme fuelled by the USDt (Tether) fraudsters, they have been manipulating the crypto markets for years, these criminal cartels operate as proxies with the "blessing" of the intelligence services and banking cartels that are ultimately the true puppet-masters.
Imagine a technology like Bitcoin that consumes approximately 155 TWh (terawatt-hours) of energy per year, of which you could power a city like New York City (50-55 TWh p/y) for 3 years in a row and still not being able to process more than 7 transactions per second (ex. Visa can do 24k tps).
All these major worthless crypto ponzies have been designed to exploit the greed of human nature by giving away free money for a while but the party will end when everything will be crashed to zero.
Out of all the existing thousands of cryptocurrencies only a few will be allowed to exist (for the purpose of Digital Identity, A.I. and Real World Asset Tokenisation) of which they will all serve ultimately to power the dystopian New World Order kingdom of the Antichrist, all governed by a single world currency.

I've also heard really good things about https://getalby.com/ from there, another easy bitcoin wallet with lightning support, no extra hardware needed. Kinda entry level to get onboarded to bitcoin and start stacking sats.

LightningNetworkPlus.com has an intro for bitcoin course you can do. They plan to do a lightning course as well in the future.
That's a great site for lightning node runners. Node running is not a profitable investment for small amounts of BTC but it allows sending and receiving satoshis for little to no fees.
You can log in with your node signature to chat, trade liquidity, and post to the forums and such.
How could I learn more about this? Any links or info would be appreciated

Now that BTC has a privacy option with lightning we're better prepared than ever!
Mining is attractive if you're burning space heaters, makes sense to play the lottery with that electricity instead.
Hubby n I are looking into getting into btc mining. That might be an option.
