I have heard second-hand and viewed pictures that the fire “is” on the opposite side of 82, the closest point within 3/4 miles—and, according to them the fire appears to be mostly contained.

FYI - Those who are not camping at Camp Copperhead but will be at the park during the day need to be aware that there is a minimal charge for a "day pass" on the camp grounds. If I remember correctly, it is $5-$10?

No reservation required or even possible. Camping spots have no boundaries either. When you arrive, find a nice spot, pitch camp and someone will eventaully be around to pay. Will see you then. Cheers.
