Telegram’s increasing requirement for cell phone numbers is what I’d say is the primary “mechanism of censorship”. This barrier for entry and use is becoming insermountable for anyone seeking anonymity and serves as a type of gentrification—squeezing out those that aren’t paying tithings to a cell carrier.
As far as I can tell, Doc has essentially censored himself because he is choosing not to overcome this barrier.
Does anyone have any information on how see the way telegram does this? It's easy to show the shenanigans on other platforms, but I've never seen anything here. All the techies I know believe in the platform AFAIK but I'm no expert. I kind of thought posting privileges are up to the group moderators. Thanks

I will have to pass on this coming October Midfest.............in spite my love for the Midfest concept and all of you wonderful free thinkers.
I dont feel its prudent to be 1000 miles away from my home/fort with all the fuckery the PARASITES in government are going to foist on AMERICANS in that time period before the FAKE ELECTIONS.

Say no to government when necessary, but make them work to determine you've disassociated. Then denigrate all central governments at every opportunity to encourage others to do the same. A few minutes ago I found my telegram posting privileges had been restricted, which has happened before after posting radical liberty stuff on telegram. This time, telegram is acting like my account is gone, even after updating Telegram Foss from Fdroid. This is a further escalation of the Telegram bullshit which has caused me to hate the platform so much. So, the @DocBarber account is gone forever, good riddens.

Just trying to indicate (since I'm not in charge either) that the date isn't locked in stone. At least once in the past the date was changed after consensus was reached due to a conflict that arose. Doc, you know you're the closest thing to being in charge, tho you're not.

Same happened to my other account here, it's horrible and I agree having alternate ways to stay in touch is important to stay connected to each other.
Mike certainly is far ahead of most people, keeping the websites updated and helping people connect through those, then the many other projects he does to foster community makes him a larger target to disconnect from others.
My takeaway is to form tighter "Freedom Cell" type groups where we can easily connect and interact with people who get censored from certain platforms while also firmly rejecting and blocking people who are collaborating to censor us or spoil our access to each other.
While it's not any more secure than telegram IMHO, I do like the better account controls Signal offers as far as blocking accounts in group chats, not deleting contents of my device as Doc explained, encryption on all PM's sent through their server, audio/ video calls work through tor/ proxy,
Let's wait until this coming Tuesday to give more people a little more time to weigh in.

Can we get a weekly or monthly camper discount for some of us, maybe 20 adults could get a better rate?
20 adults camping 5 nights is $1000 (20x5x$10). How about giving us 7 days for $40 each ($800 for 20 people) and they let us use the pool at our own risk? Maybe if they didn't close the pool on us we'd have that, but the stream by rainbow at least had swimming for the $0 camping fee there with the 14 day site limit seemed to attract more freedom minded people, granite there was the eclipse to draw the hundreds there.
Camping isfree at my place during May this year, only billed for vehicle parking at $5/night. If they would match that even, $5/night per 4 wheels perhaps since Jeremiah mentioned some prefer for vehicle limits?

That time, after the group decision and Travis was asked, we learned that date was already taken. We have never lost a date after it had been confirmed.
Confirming with campground, updating the website and notifying the firewood fellow are my necessary tasks. That's all. Still not in charge 👨🌾

I can only reiterate this, and, express that I prefer the spontaneity; that my considerations have no influence on the whole!
I’d also like to remark my excitement for a potential overlap of two desireable events:
First, it seems like a great problem to possess, and, mostly: I look forward to and embrace the inevitable expedition and discovery of living priorities induced by a timely decision to discriminate wisely when the quality in selection is of the highest degrees!
So far it looks like Oct 5th is the most popular.
Anybody else want to chime in? Thinking maybe let's give it another week of discussion and then we'll lock the date.
I like the 5th or the 12th, but I'll be there whenever it is.
