The BBC have lost a half million licence payers in one year and the loss of revenue has clearly been biting in the right places. The sudden headlines to attach the TV licence to subscription TV services; Netflix, Disney etc, being announced by the government is an implicit admission.
If such streaming services can provide TV services on subscription then why can’t the BBC? Why should Netflix et al have a UK government body’s financing attached to its activities?
This directly impacts and intercedes in the streaming services business model with its customers, who may well have left the BBC TV licence behind for the subscription service.
It is an onerous intrusion into a private contractual relationship between individuals and a private company and no doubt cause disruption to businesses that provide such services.
However there is a logical extension to this that makes this latest, desperate proposal the first step along a much more dangerous path.
Streaming services are provided via the internet, if Netflix etc successfully challenged this decision UK Government could easily extend the licence to any media services provided via the internet.
Given the extensive overlap between and indeed what is defined as media, the logical step would be to in effect introduce an internet licence. After all how can the BBC or UK Government monitor or divine what is media or how it is accessed?
The complications will multiply and the most straight forward answer is to licence or more accurately, tax all buildings that have an internet cable or access.
Once this occurs the government can regulate who, what, when and how one does access the internet. Eventually it will be done remotely and that will be the end of a free internet.
Of course I could be reading too much into this, crediting Starmer with greater Machiavellian skills than he actually possesses. But shifting that TV licence into the realm of streaming services, reliant on internet access opens up potential financial and therefore political influences into the on-line sphere.

This is a good write-up about the phenomenon of Islamic political parties in Britain. It focuses on just one, but there will inevitably be more in future - if there aren't already. It simply doesn't make sense for Muslims not to do this. Eventually it will be "racist" to ask them not to do it.
One interesting thing is the mention that the Aspire party does not advertise its policies anywhere. If you wanted proof that, in a multicultural context, all politics is identity politics, there it is. The party's policies don't matter, only its ethnic allegiance.
Of course, all of this should have been foreseen and protected against 50 years ago, at least. It was foreseen, by Enoch Powell, and we know what happened to him. I expect other powerful figures also foresaw it, knew full well that Powell was correct, but for whatever reasons wanted it to happen, or were prepared to accept it in the course of subjugating/replacing the natives.
The natives will form equivalent parties. It is inevitable. The Establishment will try to ban them. That too is inevitable. But, as we seem to be seeing now in Germany, things will spiral out of the Establishment's control.
(That doesn't mean that Britain's problems will be "solved at the ballot box", incidentally, just that I believe these events will happen.)

It's a month ago now that Millenniyule X ended. I have long since put up the mp3s, updated the website, and thanked everyone for taking part. But each year I feel the need to "acknowledge what has passed", with a note here on Telegram.
I think the festival went very well. The interviewees were well-prepared, eloquent and interesting, and there was a good mix of theory and practice, soulful and energetic.
As for the "behind the scenes" stuff, everything was ready on time, and there weren't any major screw-ups, and no choices that I'm kicking myself about in retrospect. I do wish the aesthetic was more cosy like the previous year, and that I'd been able to make special sound effects for it (my synthesiser was broken), and that I'd remembered to use the dedicated version of the outro on the final stream... but these are all trivial regrets.
I think the millennialwoes/MY2024Trailer">trailer this year was very cool. The CGI work by @zrchwv3d was outstanding. He really gave up a lot of his time to do that, so I am very grateful. I'm also glad that, in using Auslander Raus, the trailer nodded to the success our ideas are beginning to find in "the real world".
This was the tenth year of Millenniyule. The anniversary was marked in several ways:
1. the "millennialwoes/MY2024Countdown">countdown clock" video was a retrospective of all the previous years
2. the use, for the first time, of high-end CGI by third parties - limited this year to the trailer and a tiny element in the intro
3. this CGI work included the Yulepope being transformed into an animatable 3D figure. I'm personally thrilled to finally see him in 3D - and moving!
4. the new "banquet" streams, which finally solved the problem of what to do with the post-Christmas period
5. the new millennialwoes/MY2024OneAndAll">"one and all" hangout - the first Millenniyule stream open to the public since December 2016
It points the way to a more varied format for the future. That format now has quite a few elements:

4. the other AMAs scattered around

This format is the result of years of careful experimentation, and I think that, for now at least, it is exactly how Millenniyule should be. The only thing I can think to add in future is a "memorial" stream, to honour members of our community who have passed away in the year, but most years so far there has been (thankfully) no need for such a stream.
Anyway, I just wanted to give my thoughts on the tenth anniversary, and to thank everyone who helped make it a success. That includes:

LEGALLY. The highest number of removals of illegals in any year was 432,228 in 2013, and this number is inflated because it includes several people turned away at the border. So even if we deport people at record numbers we’re still ultimately just trading browns for browns. Browns with money, organization, and political ambitions. Browns that upon arrival immediately begin rewriting history and redefining what it means to be an American in order to accelerate the importing of more browns all with the full support of the Trump administration, obviously a Vance administration, and of course the GOP donor class, potentially for the next 12 years and beyond.
