@Woes, it was probably MSN Messenger or ICQ you were using to chat with your sweetheart at the time. MSN was how my wife and I used to chat away from hardcore punk gigs, when we first met.

I wonder if my father felt about those things as I do now about AI generation tools. Probably not... he has a smartphone and I don't.

I replied to this guy by asking what I had said in the video that he felt would carry more weight if I had some qualifications or accolades. I really wish he had answered me.

When I started The Rot series in 2015, a journalist from the Rotherham Advertiser newspaper contacted me to ask what qualifications I had to speak about, well, anything.

It's a thing. The implication, of course, is that without formal qualifications, nothing you say about society, culture, people or any other topic can be trusted. This presupposes a complete inability in the listener to judge what he's hearing.

God almighty, people are dreadful...
