Survivors was quite obviously overseen by a conservative. The producer Terence Dudley must be the last conservative to ever have any authority at the BBC. Throughout, Survivors shows a faith that social hierarchy is both inevitable and necessary. Characters, while well-written, fall squarely into class categories, with the working-class being feckless (though often loyal and practical), the middle-class being honest and sensible, and the upper-class being the most far-seeing, talented and resilient.
TV Guide: Survivors (1975-77)
I am watching a 1986 TV drama just now, Lost Empires. It was made by Granada so, like the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes, it was entirely shot on film (16mm). Though I'm a huge fan of "the video look", I have to say that the film is just gorgeous - wonderfully grainy and textured. It makes every interior scene feel very cosy. (I hope they never remaster this series and ruin its visual character - I didn't like the cleaned-up Holmes.)
It affirms yet again for me that digital is no match for film. When you revisit these old shows, you really wonder what we've gained from some technological advances. I understand that digital is infinitely more convenient when you're making something, but there has to be some middle ground - copying the final edit over to film then re-digitising it?

I just heard the sad news that Carl Lundström died yesterday.
Carl was a Swedish businessman and nationalist. Ever since the '80s, he was engaged in Swedish politics and protesting mass immigration.
He was one of very few people who had some money and used it to help dissidents, people and groups outside of the mainstream, get their voices heard - because he cared about his country and not just himself. He did his part for the future.
Without Carl and a handful of people like him, there would not have been any platforms for voices outside the mainstream. For that, we owe him our gratitude.

Also powerless are the “White” academics who laid decades of groundwork for 2010s Wokery. They did what they were paid to do and genetically inclined to do, and their work had a real effect, but they were never “in charge”. Their influence was real, but was being leased to them. In the end, their post can be taken away from them as easily as a social media account can be taken away from an influencer - and, with it, their influence vapourised.

This is an excellent and vital interview that I think everyone should listen to. It is with a professor of war studies at a renowned university, who believes that civil war is inevitable in Britain - and very soon.
It is alarming that such a "normie" man would have such a belief, and equally alarming is the positive response he has got from the commenters on (equally normie) Youtube channels. These are not nationalist, Alt-Right, "racist" or "conspiracy" channels, but fairly middle-of-the-road. I think these are people who have reached this conclusion very reluctantly. They believe that conflict is coming, and that the main cause of it is mass immigration.
People talk about a "vibe shift" in various ways, but one I see is a growing acceptance of certain things I was saying a long time ago. It almost feels ridiculous at this stage that I'm banned from YouTube, because it seems that a huge percentage of people now basically share my views; they were fine with one black guy at the office, but they didn't want their town to transform and their ethnicity to vanish, and they now realise this is what is happening.
