Their arrests from the Sde Teiman detention centre, compared to Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, caused uproar and led to riots and protests that called for the release of the gang-rapists. The Israeli Knesset debated whether raping Palestinian prisoners was permissible, with a Likud Party lawmaker advocating for allowing raping prisoners with sticks. Amidst Israel’s Security Minister praising the gang-rapists as heroes, thousands of Israelis attacked a military court, broke into two military bases, and clashed with police.

Despite appeals, billionaire Elon Musk appears to be ignoring his own policy guidelines and allowing such content to be shared on his platform.

As it turned out, the 17-year-old who committed the heinous crime was born in the UK, and he is not Muslim. While Starmer’s measures come in response to the violent unrest, there are fears over how this may affect peaceful protests and minority communities in the country.
