Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Malaysia aims to join the BRICS group.

In an interview with Chinese media outlet Guancha, Anwar stated that his government will initiate the membership process once it receives feedback from South Africa, the current BRICS chair. "Our policy is clear, and we will begin the formal process soon. We fully support the Global South," Anwar said.

BRICS expanded its membership in January 2024 to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Israeli media announced today that Benjamin Netanyahu has officially dissolved the emergency war cabinet, formed in early October to oversee military operations against Palestinian and Lebanese resistance forces. This decision follows opposition leader Benny Gantz's resignation from the cabinet last week.

Netanyahu explained that the cabinet had been part of a coalition agreement at Gantz's request. "With Gantz's departure, the cabinet is no longer necessary," he said.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's ruling Ansarallah resistance movement, revealed that the Yemeni armed forces have targeted 145 ships linked to Israel, the US, and the UK since October in support of Gaza.
