Approximately 100 US soldiers have been deployed along with its air defence systems to help defend the Israelis against any Iranian retaliatory attacks after Israel’s planned strikes on Iran.

13 years ago today Yahya Sinwar was released from Israeli prison after being sentenced to 400+ years
Yahya Sinwar, born in 1962 in Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza, spent 23 years in prison. First arrested in 1982, he later met Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin and became part of his inner circle.
Sinwar co-founded Majd, which targeted Palestinian collaborators with Israel. In 1988, he was sentenced to four life terms for involvement in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and four suspected Palestinian spies. While imprisoned, he learnt Hebrew to better his understanding of the enemy.
Sinwar was released in 2011 as part of a prisoner swap for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
Two Jordanian soldiers crossed the border into occupied Palestine, clashing with Israeli forces
The two men, who were wearing Jordanian army uniforms, managed to cross the border into Israeli held territory near the Dead Sea. They clashed with Israeli soldiers, injuring at least two, before they were themselves killed.
